"F? es Mejor que criqet" Football is far better than cricket"

cricket which is limited to only few contries, where as Football is well known to all over the world. More popular across the globe, but cricket only in common wealth. In Football game one can get World Cup medal, and Olympic medal. But cricket is nothing. Any poor or rich guy can get a ball and become a football star, but in cricket it is very difficult to buy the cricket kit and playing for nation. See the nations like Spain, Italy, Germany, GK, France, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Holland, Paraguay, and Chile. How good the players are encouraged by the people and the govt. But in India only few people supports global sport and the rest of the nation adoring to the unpopular cricket. Shame .......shame............/ Atleast here after encourage Indian Football, Hockey, Tennis and other sports too.
True sports lover. YCSX RealMadrid India.

Cricket should be banned in India for 10 years!
by Rizwan Khan on Apr 28, 2010 02:54 PM  | Hide replies

I think cricket should be banned in india for 10years and a true global sport should be promoted. What is cricket??? Its a silly game which only a few countries take seriousally.

Wait for June 11th when the world will unite to watch the football world cup, from asia to africa to arabia to americas to europe, the whole world will be captivated!! Football world cup and the olympics are the only 2 global events in the world!!

IPL? is some silly domestic tournament which noone from outside india knows about. Go to europe, spain, italy, germany and ask them about IPL?? They will not have a clue.

Its people like you(thankfully in a monority) who have the Europe is cool mentality, and stay late nights to watch some soccer which has absolutely no influence on India. Cricket is a sport that is complex, imaginative and has scope for aggression, calmness and every other human emotion. Unlike soccer, where u need to run with a ball from one end to another. fyi, IPL has broken all trp ratings, announced yesterday, and it proves that cricket is a religion with 1 billion indians. I hope that never changes!

i'm not advocating ban of cricket, but just wanted to emphasise that number of football loving indians are quite significant.

IPL is far more popular!
by sandeep kumar on Apr 28, 2010 02:19 PM  | Hide replies

I see some guys trying to project a league, which has absolutely no relationship to India whatsoever, as something which is great. There are no indians involved either as players, owners or coaches. Thankfully, IPL is watched by millions and thousands go to the stadiums to watch games, even during the hot indian summer. I would rather watch yuvraj smash sixes rather than some unknown croatian hit 3 goals. Its time we start focussing on Indian sports, rather than worrying about what Europe is upto.

You fool first learn what football is and then watch some European football. I bet you will lose interest in cricket and IPL.

dear sandeep ur first sentance itself proves that u r not at all a sports fanatic and u don't have a sportsman spirit. sports doesn't know any boundaries. sports are universal.we dont watch sports because our people are playing or not, we watch it because we like it.i also enjoys yuvi's sixs but i am much amazed when i see the magic of messi.and yes ofcourse we have to focus on sports in india instead of indian sports.

Hello friend...You are speaking proudly about Indian sports...Do you know Indian team also has a Footbal...Do you know that they have qualified for Asia cup after a long time...Do you know a current Indian footballer is playing in US footbal league for Cansas City...Cricket or Football it is your choice...But dont say not to watch it because it is not poular in India...By the way IPL is seen by only people from South Asia, but UCL or EPL or La Liga have been watched by people across the globe...

The point is cricket is siphoning out so much of attention, other sports are suffering. Do you remember india is two times asian games champions in football, once stood 4th in the olympic football? And football is a game widely loved by people all over the world. It's unfortunate that we dont have our candidates there.
And what you call an unknown croatian is actually a croatian international playing exceeding well for bayern munich this season, pushing players like klose, luca toni & mario gomez to the bench. It's more of our ignorance that players like olic sounds unknown to us.

I think this is a good game than Cricket. In football/Hockey u have to run on the whole ground for 70,90 mint. while cricket is a funny and luck game. This game required much exercise than cricket
