Bypassing the ash from Iceland.....
by Globalcrusador on Apr 20, 2010 05:48 PM  | Hide replies

The traditional way for airlines to the US is to go via a halt in Europe, say, London, Frankfurt etc. For passengers who are stranded bound for the US, why can't the airlines go via the Far East, say Singapore, Tokyo etc. instead of bemoaning their fate caused by this ash ? They should have worked doubly hard to clear the stranded passengers by now, instead of leaving them in the lurch.

Interesting question...but I think airlines work based on airspace and predestined flight plans for each flight. The current scenario is just an exception.
