Sania being hyped
by samavedam sivarao on Apr 12, 2010 07:07 PM  | Hide replies

The article is perfect. First of all, she has not achieved anything credible in tennis to be given this star status. She never got into world top 10, never won a grand slam or even close to a quarter final. There are better players in Asian women circuit who achieved more than her in sports but we don't hear about them. Glamour sells everywhere and she is no exception. There is no need to hype her wedding at all. I am a Hyderabadi but i dont care whom she marries or where she lives. It simply does not matter. There are better things in life/world to think and worry about.

Kindly correct, she hogged the limelight being a junior wimbledon champion, which is a grandslam. Unfortunately like many Indian child prodigies, she eventually faded after showing promising talent in her growing ages.

peoples should stay away from her personal life. u guys have no rights to interfere in her personal life and her choice. only I0sers and unemployed guys will make a comment on her and cry.

sania is the only female in india who made big in WTA WORLD.

she is the only indian to be in top50 woman single players.

We are all well settled in life unlike YOU VIJAY. Let me know if you need money !!!! Talk about current status.
Only thing clicked for her is, she is a girl lol, not more than that. there are many who have achieved more than she.

Do you know meaning of "Pride Of India", I will definitely agree with you ,in your view, "Pride Means of SHAME" lol.

Pride Means someone like "TENDULKAR", "BORN TO WIN". Use your brain next time when you do something , dont be like Sania.

You do not hv anything to cover?
by Duffer on Apr 12, 2010 07:01 PM  | Hide replies

It is shameful Ms Malavika that you are cribbing. Dont you think media is not covering what it should be covering? Why have you not been so curious about what happens to all the cases that CBI takes up but does not result in a win for the Govt, why dont you cover the real issues...this is because the media is paid for keeping things under the cover more then what is published.

Jealous Journalist
by Mohammed Riyaz on Apr 12, 2010 07:00 PM  | Hide replies

The writer of above article is the most senseless and useless journalist i have ever come across. Can this Malvika make India as proud in international arena as Sania Mirza. Sania may not be having the powress of Steffi Graff, but she is one amongst us. We are proud of whatever meagre achievements she has done compared to other so called big stars from other countries. Rediff being such a responsible website has published this type of article is really shameful. These beggars journalists have to simply admit that they earn their daily bread and butter owing to the generousity of these celebrities, or else they will have to sleep empty stomachs.

Mediocrity needs to be praised because the rest are worse off? By that logic, we should all celebrate everytime an Indian athlete represents the country in an international event, because they lose everytime, but at least they competed!
By your logic, we should keep heaping praise on our cricketers, because they have reached the World Cup finals so many times!

Media behaved very well when she got engaged with Sohrab Mirza
by Rajeev Kapoor on Apr 12, 2010 06:58 PM

At that time there was no media fuss they just applauded her engagement with her childhood friend. But her decision of marrying a person from a country like PAKISTAN has irritated media and specifically Indians. It also shows that she is a spoiled child of her parents.
