I am curious. What verification is the police Commissioner going to do? Is it not the duty of the immigration authorities to make sure that everything is in order?

Pathetic is the single word that i could think of describing this sham drama. Shoaib and Sania decided to marry. It is a one liner news item not 24x7 focussed drama. I feel that the media is indirectly preying Shoaib for catching the prize (as in their eyes) called Sania. This is nauseatic thought.
Coming to the alleged Dhokha part. There are lots of lose ends here. Let us take that Shoaib married this girl Ayesha. Whats wrong in he marrying Sania even if he doesn't give her a thalak? To the best of my little knowledge Muslim personal law (MPL) allows polygamy (upto 4 i guess). I am unable to fathom the reason behind charging 420 et al against him.
Also it is intriguing that Siddiquis kept quite from 2002 to till now about their daughter's alleged marriage with Shoaib. Also if my understanding is right, even if Shoaib married Ayesha knowing, since it has taken place over phone, per MPL it is invalid (so is talak over phone). Coming to Shoaib's side, if his statement is right (that the girl whom he married over phone or so is not Ayesha) then he can lodge a counter-complaint against Siddiqui's on impersonation, till now he hasn't done that, why (is it benevolent or something else)? Finally Sania, She recently cancelled her engagement with Mirza and suddenly recalled her love with Shoaib that had blossomed long before engagement. What was she doing by agreeing to engagement?

K G... Even in muslim law unless the first wife agrees then only he can marry second, third or fourth. Now coming to siddiques not voicing from 2002... Only when the problem comes one will raise their voice. Until now shohaib did not announce any marriage from 2002 onwards then how to you expect siddiques to raise voice?

thanks for the clarification domainking on MPL. so it all now boils down whether the presiding officer(mullah/maulvi, apologies my ignorance) of shoaib & sania is going to admit the nikah request as shoaib has not got acceptance from his alleged first wife. So obviously Shoaib would have known that if he knows that his marriage with ayesha is legally (as per MPL ofcourse) tenable then he has to either divorce her or get her acceptance. I presume if it is a legally tenable one surely he would have done silently before all these dramas. So he should be thinking that his stand (i.e. it is a void/null illegal marriage) is legally tenable and hence he is going ahead with marriage with sania. one more part of my query on Siddique is that they haven't tried to "get along to live" with Shoaib for 8 years? If it were common law a absconding or not-living-with-spouse nature for continuous 7 years (at the least) makes eligible to declare the wedding invalid (or is it eligible for divorce). I am not sure how the MPL treats this "not living for more than 7 years" status.

See one day shohaib will vanish even without anyone knowing about it.. Then our officials will starting investing the case how did he managed to leave india.. !!
Jumped over themselves to "solve" this case. Hopefully they will show same urgency to solve the various robberies, murders, etc that take place in hyderabad.
Shohaib has gifted a house worth Rs.12crores in dubai. Question is where did this guy earn such a big money? Is it by match fixing? One day he may fix sania also for that... !!
He's banned for a year...so he doesn't need passport to play international cricket... In Pakistan,he needs to be afraid of bomb blasts when he goes out... Now,he's happily staying in a house with a hot girl he's about marry... I dnt know whether sparks have started flyin in his home .......
It's shame that the tax payers money is being squandered over petty and irrelevant issues like involving a citizen of an enemy country and s*ex-hun*gry girl.

You are right.... Govt is wasting money on sania. Just imagine she gets everything free..her travel, stay and what not..finally she goes out in first round. Selfish player just want name to her and not for country.
If sania can play for india after marrying pakistani..then sonia is still italian. Will congress to this statement? If they dont then they should ensure that sania will not play for india anymore.
If a Military official found guilty of national interest his medals are pulled off. If a sports person is found to used drugs his medals are pulled down. IF A PERSON WHO RECEIVED HIGH AWARD IN SPORTS AND DOES AGAINST THE NATIONAL INTEREST ...then Sania also has to be stripped off her awards. Shame on officials and congress if they clear her to represent india anymore.

domainking, getting married to another national (be it rival country or not) doesn't automatically warrants one (here sania) to get stripped off the awards, as long as she retains her indian nationality. Only if and when she goes against the nation in sports (how is that possible, i am not able to guess here, perhaps betting) should she be stopped playing for the nation. As far as India is concerned she is not a Great son or daughter of a soil (a good sports person though) defending the nation, whose move out would be a miss for the nation, if she stops playing for India and plays against India.
All said, it is better she stop representing India if she plans to settle outside India.
