by sameer sayed on Apr 06, 2010 09:16 PM  | Hide replies

In this whole game and fun, we dont realise how much fuel is wasted!! on the other hand we teach and preach of scarcity of fuel! Do we really need this kind of games now??

The total fuel used in F1 in a whole year is equal to the fuel spent by 1 fully loaded 747 flying from NY to London.

F1 is a big "event", more than just the race itself. It has lots of peripheral benefits to our economy.

And it's the R&D of motorsport. Double-wishbone suspensions, traction control, disk brakes, turbo engines all evolved there and came to road cars. Next big thing is the Kers system that was piloted last year.

Yes, there absolutely no need of conducting and distributing prizes and money some outsiders. Unnecessary lavish expenses

Good sports but not the right time
by national madraasi on Apr 06, 2010 07:35 PM

Millions will have to be spent for the infrastructure that a sport like F1 requires.
.
It is a good thrilling sport but does the nation require it at the moment.
.
Look at the massacre of CRPF men by maoists, we are in grave danger as a united peaceful nation.
.
We need to root out the mennace and that should be the first priority.
.
Sports and luxury can wait.
.
This kind of spending will only increase maoism

Credit goes to Mallaya
by Don Kernash on Apr 06, 2010 02:00 PM  | Hide replies

Mallaya is the one who brought Formula 1 in India. He asked the central govt to support but it refused then he asked variopus state govt for support and all of them refused. Only Jaypee Group supported his decesion and tied up with him for a new formula 1 circuit which is apporx 65 Kms from Delhi.

Hello Manu Delhi is having the worst airport to handle the F1 cargo. Its happening in INDIA i am happy for that. But as per the viewers and infrastructure takes into account the race track should be placed somewhere between three cities(Mumbai, bangalore & Hyderabad) as they have a high potential of infrastructure and new airports which can handle any number of Cargo's.They have a good national highways which are built newly. I don't think Delhi is a suitable place for that F1 but I am happy that INDIA is getting F1 track.

Vikas,

JP group might build the track, but wat about the airports, roads, connectivity, security etc.
.
Public money will be spent in millions which is not correct at this moment, when maoists and terrorists are killing people and farmers are committing suicides

it'll be fun to watch the F1 cars trying to speed through our racing circuit which may end up like our roads, full of potholes. :)
