Injured Nadal pulls out of Thailand Open

You are theorising with insufficient data. Despite this injury, Nadal reached SF in the US Open, which should be considered good enough. Thogh, Nadal is not at his best, only the best can think of beating him, and he can rattle the best anytime. Few would have expected him to get past Fernando Gonzalez in the manner he did.
And I don't think Soderling belongs to that exclusive club.

With Del potro, Murray, Djokovic, Federer, Solderling, and many more, Nadal's chances are only getting diminshing.... he can make it to low level tournaments and win ... grandslams , masters are something he wont win anymore
