Bopanna won againt Rik in singles and on reverse singles Somdev hardly won the match and all praise goesv to him why Bopanna is not appreciated when he had easily won against the SA No1.

This is really very stupid commment.Do you understand the meaning of being in 16 top tennis playing countries in World? It is a great achievement for a nation where parents only encourage children to study & no sports.Somedev & yuks along with Bopanna are new icons of Indian sports & deserves all praise for the way they won against SA.

See you may not be confident but Somdev is confident. It does not matter that you are not confident, what matters is thatSomdev is confident.
Just as an example.... such a good result relegated to the bottom of the sports tag while India's defeat in a WARM UP to nz is a "headline" on rediff. Disgusting. Many congrats to the davis cup team keep it up guys

i agree 100%. v the ppl n the media r equally to blame as v dont know where to gv importance.
Somdev is truly a gifted player possesing the killing temperment which the immortal Vijay Amritraj did not have. Fans may not know that Somdev has won the NCAA tournament twice. A remarkable achievement in itself Both McEnroe & Connors are former NCAA champs. My only negative comment is that Somdev should have turned pro right after winning the NCAA tourney. All NCAA champs get an aotomatic wild card berth into the U.S. Open. Somdev did not get this because there is an old archaic(RACIST) rule that to get this wild card berth the NCAA champ should be a U.S. citizen. As an Indian Americam I am extremely proud of Somdev
people are over reacting. this kid has got a highly limited resources. so, he cannot be expected to do lots of things. well, he has decent serve and forehand, but highly restrictive backhand. this gives the opponent extra time. also he is not using his wrists. his anticipation is pathetic. may be with some good coach he can do better.

Come on man he won practically every university tiitle in US.he has mwad it to top 100 in world & already feared as a competitor by most pros.Let us not compare him with top 10 just now.a few good wins like this will make him more determined to do better in ATP circuit.
