Force India
by Manish Kumar on Sep 13, 2009 12:57 PM

I would like to mention to all those present here, that the 2008 season Force India was the name of the team but the car and development was from the previous Spyker team. That was the main reason for lagging behind in 2008. At the beginning of the year Force India had a deal with McLaren-Mercedes for engines and gear boxes.
If anybody could recall Force India were doing reasonably well at the start of the season, to be precise they were 9th and 11th respectively in opening race of Australia. The speed was there from the beginning, but as the season progressed other teams development came at much faster pace. So they comprehensive difference between other teams and FIF1. Also, a factor was the late launch of the car, giving less testing time to the team and drivers to acquiant themselves to the car.

The Force India car started showing pace as the second half of the season commenced, when they introduced new upgrades to the car.

See people, Formula1 is a very technical game and demands great engineering marvels from engineers and technical squad. The whole team are responsible for successful completion and competition in a race. Even 0.005 seconds can make a difference between the middle of the pack to bottom or front.

I think, Force India F1 Team and Mr. Mallya, have done an excellent job till date and I admire Mr. Mallya to have helped me realize the dream of any Indian involvement in F1. The dream I had cherished from my childhood watching F1.

F1 in a mess?
by Michael on Sep 12, 2009 11:39 PM  | Hide replies

It looks like F1 is in a mess.... many f1 teams have mercedes engines or ferrari or toyoto. so whats the charm in racing with the same engine by different teams..? It could very well be A1GP. Honda is not there anymore in the F1 racing and teams are getting floated by using some engines.. before it was mainly the car makers fighting it out with their unique engines.

Fed up of the cable operators. I bought the setup box in order to view ESPN and Star Sports channels together but today he has cut these channels. And the idiotic game cricket is going on live on more than 5 channels - Ten, DD, DDSports, Udaya News etc. I am really planning to go for Airtel or Tata Sky. Once of my fried had Taka Sky and he had similar problem. I think we need have a option to directly telecast from ESPNStar studio. When this country is going to improve.
