Very Difficult....................
by Kelvin on Sep 11, 2009 12:07 PM  | Hide replies

It is very difficult now for Nadal to win U.S.Open as QF play has been suspended, he has to finish long battle for QF and then win SF. Physicaly very tough for already troubled and injured Nadal.Where and How to get rest and keep fresh for Next match ?? Time is running out. QF on Friday SF on saturaday, IF he wins Final on Sunday, seems immpossible.

You should recall how he won the Australian Open earlier this year. He had to play a grueling 5 setter against Verdasco barely 24 hours before the final, and yet he could find the energy reserves to unnerve Federer.
What seems impossible to you; may be impossible for others, but is not just possible, but probable for Nadal.

Nadalk vs Federer...
by Chiranjit Sikdar on Sep 11, 2009 10:48 AM  | Hide replies

Federer is as elegant as feathers.... his elegance makes him one of the better player of the century...

On the other hand Nadal is the symbol of hard work. He is an inspiration for all the hardworking men and women.... he showed that at the end of the day, hardwork pays.... there lies his greatness.... there is always something inspirational about him....

Fedex & Rafa
by srinivas alwala on Sep 11, 2009 10:31 AM  | Hide replies

I think we are unnecessarily conjuring up some knd of a fight, when they themselves (Fedex & Rafa) respect each other so much. Please do understand that they are two different types of players. One is smooth like an opera on court and the other is pure athleticism. If Rafa can sustain continued athleticism against Fedex (Which he has shown that he has), he will win. All the others (the Djokovics and Murrays) will have to play up to these two.Remember glory can be shortlived. Not GREATNESS. Its eternal. It stays beyond Grand Slams.

After wimbledon 2008, Federer will never win any GS and can't break pete record.

Reality:
Federer has won 3 out of 4 GS after last year wimbledon including french open.

So, what does Nadal's injury prove Mr.Sikdar? You have to take care of your mind, body and the game to be a great Grandslam Champion in Tennis. That is where Federer scores over Nadal. He took care of his mind, body and his tennis. The rest is history. Nadal's obsession was to beat Federer and he ignored his body. That is why he is struggling today with a bruised body. So, it is ridiculous to say that Federer wins because Nadal is injured. Nadal injured himself by playing highly physical tennis, especially on the brutal clay courts of Europe and his knees went kaput! Like Federer said after the Wimbledon, he became no.1 again not because Nadal was injured but because he (Federer) won the French and the Wimbledon championships. Federer did not become no.1 again by default, but playing and winning!
