the government is ready 2 spent RS 350 crore on a statue 2 be build in bombay which would give no returns but they think investing 200 crores in a sports which would give employment n also promote tourism n would also give healthy returns is useless :(cemdm
positive move.. there are so many young car racing aspirants in India with nowhere to go and realise their talent.. hope these cos invest at grassroot level in india to help young talented drivers make a future in racing n make the sport more affordable... owning a team is fine.. but it wont do much for the country's talent as in the case of force india.. we should have indians feel as proud to race in force india as italians do when they race in ferrari.. but we've to build quality drivers first..
It just shows how oppurtunistic Indian companies are they are willing to spend millions of dollars on a sport tht is not even popular in India instead of investing and encouraging sports like Soccer Badminton where indians are doing relatively well and all they need is the right backing and money and they will go places what a shame these companies are bring to India

F1 is NOT a sport. I enjoy watching it but its NOT a sport, its entertainment much like IPL. Those countless millions are better spent on developing the core infrastructure that our athletes need.

At least they(company) are seeing something for then in this(F1).unlike other games where the gov. have strong foothold for not encouraging the game and instead irrelevant punishing good players(like Baichung Bhutia) for participating in Reality shows. (Note : Baichung Bhutia have shown very good performance in now concluding Nehru Cup.)
it's an ironical situation in which Indians are lining up to buy teams in a championship which is not even considered to be a sport in India (F1 is categorized as entertainment by the sports ministry of India)
