Great going TFA and the sorry state of Indian Football
by Robin Hood on Sep 05, 2009 08:07 PM

Great going boys...these boys are the future of team India. Its really great to see youngsters choosing football over cricket (e.g., Robin Singh from Delhi). If only there was a little good intention from the autorities in the form of providing good infrastructure and incentive, then India, a country of a billion people could have played the WC long ago. Things are going completely in an ad hoc and unplanned manner in Indian football. Chief coach, Mr. Haughton should have been on the ground to check out these boys, but instead he is partying in Thailand post Nehru Cup success (which was a great achievement btw). Its foolish to assume that we will get success in Asia Cup with so many aging players in the squad who are probably already contemplating retirement. We should smoothly assimilate these boys in the team so that there is always a central core with constant supply of quality players from outside. But alas!! who is thinking about these...people are happy they got 25 crores from BCCI and they are secured for the next three years after which they will again get some hot shot politician to become the president and dole out money in return.
