football rating doesnt takes ratio of matches and wins. whoever play more and win more, that average considered for ranking.
In actual we dont deserve 156th position. As Bob Houghton stated, ranking is not the concern for us now. we have qualified for Asian Championship. There we need to secure within 4th position. then participate in world cup and get 1 or 2 wins. thats it, India will come within 70 rankings.
I don't understand one thing if we have won 3 tournaments how come we are ranked 156th. Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Syria. All these countries are ahead of us & we have been beating them for last 2 years??????

we've moved to 149th in the latest release.. just shows how much more is needed to get into top 70 or top 100...

Dude......thats the reason why India is at 156 otherwise it wud have been somewhere near 200.After this win we are surely gonna climb the ranks

320 countries play football.... 156 is not bad :-) for a country where cricketers are treated as God ... any sports other than the cricket is treated just as a timepass :D
