In our country, where non-cricketing sports are traditionally not associated with sporting accolades, Saina Mirza invited lot of media attention and subsequent weight of expectations of a huge nation.
With media attention came fame disproportionate to professional success followed by attention & adulation.
Sania looks like she could not handle fame & adulation well and this began affecting her game.
This is an oft repeated story in India with many young sportsmen.
However there are level-headed young sporting achievers as well like Vishy Anand, Gopichand & Sania Nehwal. Sania Nehwal in particular comes across as a focussed sport-girl inspite of her good looks and has never been in news for non-sporting or wrong reasons.
Sania must take a leaf out of Saina's book if she wants to save her flagging career.

My dear...she is 22 years old...i guess you should watch some sports before commenting here...22 isnt an age to retire..its an age to prosper...May be she isn't winning grand slams...okay not even WTA events..but atleast we Indians have someone to cheer during grand slam singles...if she goes who willtake her place??

My dear is Mr. Noone reaching the semi-finals is not a small achievement. Being able to accomplish what Sania has done is amazing and she has another 4-6 years to do what she has. The problem with people like u is that you have no clue about he sport, about what it takes to achieve what Sania has and yet you shoot your mouth off!

Her progress in any tournamnet heavily depends on the draws...Good that she managed to reach semis this time around. Wishing her a happy and successful married life..
