Argentina finally laboured its way against some weak teams(uruguay,Peru) etc. The so-called coach has no idea how to manage this overrated team. Other than Messi who's world class we have the likes of Veron, who was a flop at ManU in 2001! And some unknowns. England and Spain have far far better players than the argentines, who can only dream of having world class players like Gerrard, rooney, lampard, iniesta, fabregas etc.

And yet these world class players like gerrard, Lampard etc can't strike a single penalty in a penalty shootout when it really matters.......the sort of thing that Baichung Bhutia can easily do!!

He is the best player the world has best produced, but coaching job at the national level is not suitable for him. He could rather be good to take up the job of providing skill knowledge to young footballers

The best players are not always the best coaches. Maradona is so talented that he cannot see the follies of other less gifted players and consequently cannot work on their weakensses. A moderately successful player would have been a much better coach
A World Class and probably even the best, Maradona still lacks the quality associated with top flight Coaches. Matches at this level are not won by sentiments and individual class. Argentine Football must take a closer look at the present situation and rectify all anomalies immediately.
In fact, Brazil & Argentina should be automatically given opportunity to qualify final proceedings of World Cup Football to make the tournament more attractive. Best wishes for Maradoa.
AFF should chuck Diego from his role as coach and bring in someone with experience. His ego has put to sidelines such gifted playmakers such as Riquelme. Bring some one ASAP and fight for glory and not as also rans!!!
Good Players does not always become Good Captains / Coaches and vice versa. Fine examples are Diego himself and Sachin from our yard. Dhoni is not as swazbuckling as he used to be, but still is a fine leader who can gel the team well. Another great player who struggled at the both the top posts was Kapil Dev. These guys seem to be too sensitive and lose their cool when it comes to bringing guys together and finally lose their own form as well.

I agree. Take the case of famous Aussie cricketing coach "Buchanan" who is not a well known player.
No matter they ( Argen ) struggle but I'm sure the best of the team will come in World Cup.Remember 2 World cup baks Brazil too struggle and they get into world cup by a whisker and then Brazil wins in Korea & Japan
