The match should be replayed as Henry himself is agrees that he handled the ball (Unfortunately, the rule says that the referee's decision is final). But to single out Henry for unsportsmanlike conduct is not fair. How many players have faked a fall in the penalty area to win penalties fraudulently ? I still remember the last World Cup quarter final match between Italy and Australia, where the Italians could not overcome the spirited Aussies. So they faked a fall, got a penalty with a few minutes remaining and won the game and went on to win the World Cup, while the Aussies were left shattered by the referee's decision.
The fact is all players cheat one way or the other and at least Henry had the decency to admit that it was a handball.
I dont know why these Scandinavian refree are against English & Irish teams....first Norwegian refree denied Chelsea penalty against Barca(CL Semis)when reply clearly showed tht Seidu Keita handled ball at penalty area.....now this Swedish refree went one step further,he allowed the goal which was handled twice at penalty area....no matter i wonder these teams don't qualify for worldcup.
A TRUE CHAMPION,HE MUST HAVE MADE A MISTAKE AT THAT MOMENT WHICH MAY BE KILLING HIM AND PEOPLA WILL TRY TO MALGAIN HIM HE IS A WORLD CLASS PLAYER AND A TRUE VHAMPION. NO WONDER HE SELECTED AS BEST FOOT BALLER BY CASTROL OPINION POLL

FIFA HAD ALREADY SAID THAT REPLAY IS NOT POSSIBLE. HENRY IS VERY SMART IN SAYING "LET'S HAVE A REPLAY", WHEN HE KNOWS THAT THERE CAN BE NO REPLAY. THE GUY CHEATED AND NOW O IMPROVE HIS IMAGE HE SAYS HE HAS MADE MISTAKES. HE IS NO LESS A CHEAT THAN MARADONA, NGOG, RONALDO AND OTHERS.
How remarkable...a country failed to qualify for world cup because of one man's cheating. Dicing, handball are all part of football, which is why people in India prefer cricket. All cheats like chucking, tampering are sorted out within a few days unlike football where nothing seems done. Rather than celebrate Henry, beckham etc, lets salute our own Tendulkars and Bindras and Sanias

WHAT ABOUT M-AZZARUDDIN,AJAY JADEJA AJAY SHARMA,MANOJ PRABHAKAR. WHAT IS SANIA'S ACHIVEMENT? SAINA ACHIVED A LOT MOER THAN WHAT SANIA DID. FOOT BALL IS A UNIVERSAL GAME& IS NOT GAME PLAYED BY 5 OR 6 TEAMS AROUND THE YEAR FOR THE SAKE OF BETTING

well said venu, but i dont understand why FIFA is not replyaing the match when the whole world can see that it was a hand ball. My heart goes out for the irish fans..qualification for the world cup is the biggest thing in football next to winning the cup.its really sad if the irish do not get a rematch and its the best way for France to enter the world Cup.

footballers are well known for diving to win penalties..the irish surely werent complaining when they won an unfair penalty against Georgia in the qualifying rounds...what goes around comes around!!! Sandeep speaks like we are all satya harischandras and mother teresas back in india

such things happened even before.a single mistake from refree is not permiting the game to be replayed.no such rules in fifa. you may remeber the game between england and argentina in world cup whis played under the shadow of falk lands war.there was to much hype about this game . the first goal scored by diego was a hand goal ,latter become famous as god's hand ,argentina won 2-0

our indians only care for personal milestones. football is a TEAM game and our players cant play as a TEAM most of the times. and u also need stamina, strength and a strong will to help team-mates. thats y football is not successful here. and this clearly shows u know nothing abt football. stick around watching cricket instead of the beautiful game. cheers.
