Welcome to Indian bureaucracy, welcome to babudom of highest level, welcome to red tape so red even blood curdles..... soon you will run away screaming I better be coaching Spanish kindergartens.... Best of luck....
Go Brasa, go, all the very best on your new assignment. Guys, don't get me wrong, I'm not favouring foreign coaches over Indian coaches. For a champion nation for many years, we certainly don't have dearth of talent. What we do lack are world class infrastructure facilitiets and the will to resist political interference in sports. Ever wondered why politicians who know nothing about the game flock to head sports bodies? Its the money that acts like honey, attracting them like bees. Fortunately, now we have some sensible former players in charge of Indian hockey who have taken the sensible decision to appoint Brasa. I like the following comment of Brasa:
"A lot needs to be done to improve Indian hockey and I have made it clear that I will run things the way I want to," Brasa told a newspaper.
That shows his strong will and intention to do something good for Indian hockey.
Good luck and good cheer fella! And, good tidings for the team!!
Why a women's coach? To show that foreign coaches are not better than India? Or because that way the salary would be affordable? What are the objectives set? Having said that there may be very valid reasons why they prefered this coach:but all Indians need to know the reasons for the same. Hockey is not the exclusive propeerty of the IHF.
