This is really good news. We need more such news especially of success in such endeavours, winning the competition fairly and with grace. Wonderful to note that we have a class act to represent the modern Indian thinking woman as well.

Humpy did well to play strong throughout, and staged a strong comeback, helped in part by some poor play by her opponents. Very commendable performance. She kept nerves while trailing and showed great fight.
However, Humpy seems to be losing the battle of prestige against Hou Yifan, the Chinese wonder-kid. She was eliminated by her in the World Championships, and here too Hou beat her. It wasn't a badly played game by Humpy, but she was overpowered by Hou. Beating the lesser players is not going to get her too many brownie points, unless she can tame Hou. At the moment, she doesn't seem to be on track on that front.
