it's great watching girls winning a big tournament in HOCKEY,after a splendid performance by INDIAN WOMEN in cricket T20,wen they reached semi finals.All my salutes 2 these girls.
Why no pakistan in the list... do they want to play in the burkha showing only their eyes and frightening the opposition....? Its bad the women are treated shabbily in the muslum world.
Congratulations to the women's team, coach, and all the administrative staff members associated with the team. This victory is even more sweet because in India women are treated like permanent second class citizens and their participation in sports lacks funds and media coverage like their male counter parts.
This victory shows that Indian women can compete with western women in physically demanding supports like Hockey too. However, they need to build upon this victory and move ahead with higher aims like Asia Cup, World Cup, and next Olmypic (London 2012). Go great guns.
It is shameful that none of our business houses has come forward to offer even a token amount to the victorous team. Same for government, and ministries, etc.
Anyway, let the Indian men live with their pipe dreams, and sexist attitudes. YOU keep moving forward.
