hewitt is a brand of aussie racism
by biswanath roy on Jun 26, 2009 07:28 PM

quite some years ago hewitt was playing james blake the coloured american in wimbledon. in one disputed line call, which went in favour of blake, hewitt lost his temper& shouted at the chair umpire, alleging that since the line umpire was also black, he had favoured blake, as both were of the same colour.i was seeing the match on tv & was apalled at the abuses of hewitt. blake was so upset by this incident, he lost his concentration & the match.the wimbledon committee left hewitt with just a warning. had such an incident been instigated by an asian/african/latin american, or even an european not belonging to the anglo-saxon stock, he would have barred from playing at wimbledon for a minimum period of one year.wimbledon has softened down a lot from the time federer & nadal have started dominating the tennis scene, & there is no american & australian to challenge these two.

It's hard to play consistently on same level like Federer.

correct. Also dominate everyone (except Nadal) on all surfaces.

Nadal dominates him on Clay. On Grass and Carpet Federer is leading. On hard court they are leveling each other.

Hewitt won mainly because of the crowd support and many Aussie supporters. Its bad even in sports players become victims of Aussies racial abuses.
