safin is still a superstar
by brettleeme on Jun 25, 2009 11:15 AM  | Hide replies

remember tennis is such a difficult world sport and not an easy 3rd world sport like cricket
it is dumb to compare an ordinary vinod kambli with a superstar safin
safins career has been 2nd only to federer, nadal and hewitt in his gen
ie why he has 2 majors and former no 1 ranking
though guys like djkovic and murray might achieve more in future than safin
btw safin rocks

i dont read posts i dont reply to

Yes we can't compare player like Safin to an ordinary player like Kambli. But there is no difference between Kambli and Hewwit.

@Anurag,
like safin hewitt also won 2 grandslams and in his peak he has beaten all, dont u think compare hewitt with kambli is insult to him
And lastly,u cant compare 2 different sports........but tennis is the toughest game and competitive game,in tennis to win tournaments a player has to play almost all days(except Grandslams)...........but in cricket a player feel tired(like Indian T20 team) by playing 2 matches in 3-4 days........so if u compare these 2 sports even safin, hewitt is better than most of criket legends

Both have 2 grandslam but Safin is far-far better player than Hewwit.

I don't know why he performs badly. He needs a good coach.

he is mercurial and charismatic...and that is the thing that will always hold him special in the hearts of all the fans....he will perhaps be remembered as the most unfulfilled talent the game has ever seen.....but he is real character(larger than life fugure, as described by federer)and that's why he is special.......

rigthly said Puneesh, same as Goran Ivansivc, he too had same charishma and game as Safi, Now he will not play any more in Wimbeldon so no point in a coach!!

he is one of the best talent(probably after federer in this era) but dont know why he was so incosistent.......besides nadal he was the other man who could beat federer consistently, but dont know why he failed so many matches.........

He was complete player,we will surely miss him

Safin has already beaten Federer and Sampras when they were on their peak. I do agree with you, Safin is complete player.
