If Nadal doesn't play, and Murray wins the title defeating Federer in the final, Murray will become no. 2 just 5 points behind Nadal with Federer relegated to no. 3 with nearly 300 points between him and Federer. Interesting possibility.

:-)
After last year Wimbledon Djokovic was just 10 points behind from Federer. You told Federer will lose his 2nd spot to Djokovic. Now see the points difference.

dear aish, winning is not important, any body on his day can win by defeating the master, but defending what u won is more important. that is why federer managed to keep his ranking to record 233 weeks.last year joker was so close to federer to topple himj from second spot but see the diference. similarly if murrays is going to win w`don & more to become # 1 he has to defend it next year , otherwise he will be in the bin.

Nadal if he doesn't play in Wimbledon may lose his Top ranking if Federer wins the tournament, but it is not going to be 'End of Nadal'. You should revise the heading of your message.
