Re: Leander the great

Leander did play singles and has won the silver or bronze in the olympics. His ranking went out of the cut-off to make it to the good tournaments, that he stopped playing singles. He plays only doubles and mixed doubles.

leander's singles ranking took a beating cuz he was focusing more on doubles ..plus he was always gr8 in davis cup games , even in singles he beat carlos moya , goran ivanasevic and such top 10 players...apart from that he was the junior world no.1 for 2 years..
The days of Wimbledon using grass court prowess for their seedings are long gone. Since the past 8-9 years, they have only been using ATP rankings.
To inform this obviously uninformed journalist, it was a protest by Spaniards and Argentinians way back that resulted in the seedings mirroring exactly the ATP rankings. This was because though many clay courters had good ATP ranks, Wimbledon didn't give them seedings saying that they were not good on grass.

Bull crap Mr.Duh .. this is what is used: "No huge surprise considering these are their current world rankings and whilst most tournaments seed players exactly on their world ranking the week before the tournament begins Wimbledon use much more than world ranking to determine the seedings, they include the previous 24 months grass court results as an additional factor. The seeds are the top 32 players on the ATP rankings, But then rearranged based on,
Take ranking points at 17 June 2009 Add 100% points earned for all grass court tournament in the past 12 months Add 75% points earned for best grass court tournament in the 12 months before that. ". Incidentally u write a lot of crap very authoritatively ...authoritative is good, but the crap isn't.

theoretically, u r right...but practically, how many grass court tournaments r there? 2 before Wimbledon, wimbledon itself, and then, 1 or 2 after that...
that's it.
hence, the points earned for grass court tournaments wouldn't matter much, i feel.
at the end, it's only the rankings that would matter most. for a fact, the top 16 seeds and top 16 ranks r the same!
Incidentally, thanks for the compliment on authoritativeness!!!
Regd crap, might be so theoretically, but practically, it is quite true!

looks like u don't watch tennis..only knowledge u have of tennis is from listening to Nadal fans!
When RAFA there is fire and fury all around. The energy that he puts. He is five years younger than Federrer. Even then he has won 7 Grand Slams. And has defeated Fedrere in most of the matches. RAFA is certainly going to the GREATEST PLAYER EVER.

I dont know about fire but I like the grit and determination of Nadal. If you saw the finals of AUS open 09, you ll see what I exactly meant. Nadal`s compatriot Verdasco said that "You ll have to win 3 points against Nadal to win a point" says great things about the Never say give up attitude of the guy. And Roger on the other hand is all class and never seen him work hard for points. His is the serve and volley type of a game( best suited for grass and hardcourts). It would be good if the stalwarts meet in the final but Rafa`s injury may play the spoiltsport here. All in all, the rivalry is good for the game.
The game has yet to be started. If fedex and rafa meet in the final the game can turn either way for fedex or rafa. Sometimes u cannot whether it will be novak djokovic or andy murray. Andy is in his top his game . But Iam putting my money on both the players. Just hope that it will be another final like what happened in last year wimbeldon.

In last 3 Grandslam Nadal was only able to reached 1 grandslam final where he also found trouble against Verdasco. Federer is best at grass, Murray is looking in great form. So I keep Nadal at 3.

still u have given more of a chance to Murray than to Nadal. What an analysis!

Andy Murray 40pc...good one man. you should be in laughter challenge. He is an enigma and in my oppinion will remain the same in grandslams throughout his career. Let him first win one and then talk about him, leave alone giving 40pc chance. if Nadal gets fit its 55-45 chance for him and Roger. Roger has a mental block against Rafa thats why I give Rafa more chance.
Re: Re: Winning chances in percentage....

the only reason for justifying a higher probability of Murray winning is that Nadal is injured and may not make it to finals.
Otherwise, Nadal is way better than Murray.
But of course, there's no stopping Federer this time.
