Ronaldo , a galactico built by several shining selfless stars
by Debajit Ray on Jun 13, 2009 11:39 AM

It is quite apparent that Ronaldo made more than significant contributions in ensuring United's success for last 3 years , especially during 2008-09 season . However, there are few other critical factors which contributed in squeezing the best out of Ronaldo
1. United had an excellent midfield feeding Ronaldo with impeccable passes that had only one stop before crashing on the back of nets; either Ronaldo's feet or head. United midfielders epitomized these laser guided passes
2. Rooney, inspite of being a world class striker and a loyal disciple of the gaffer, played selflessly throughout the 3 seasons, to ensure that United's glories are of highest priority and not his name on the scoresheet
3. Tevez, played intermittently mostly warming the bench for little or no fault of his but as a consequence of Ferguson's exorbitant bias towards Ronaldo as attacking winger. However, whenever he played , he never shied from putting the ball forward for Ronaldo as well

He is not at all honest player, NO team spirit

I could say that Ronaldo is more 'actor' than player. You must have seen him falling down often and asking for penalty for that...and make mimik if does not get it.
I never liked him because he is not at all 'honest' player. World best player is Sweden's (my country :-)) Zlantan... who played for Inter and now he will to Barcelona.

absolutely,, why these people rating rolnaldo too much.. he is not seems to be that much level player. rather than ronaldo, there are lots of good player who played good football better than ronaldo. like ribery, torres, henry, xavi, messi etc...

Cmon give a player his due. Even though as a ManU fan I am disappointed that Ronaldo decided to leave, I would still say he is the worlds best player. As annoying as his antics are, a player who consistently scores 30 goals a season should definitely be rated as the worlds best. He is a threat from set plays, the ball on his feet and long distance free kicks. Messi, Iniesta are no doubt world class players but neither of them are as compact as Ronaldo although they are definitely more likeable. Even though his departure leaves a huge void in ManU, Im sure they will recover and still remain one of the best clubs in the world.
IN FERGUSON WE TRUST !!!!

I agree that he is not that much great player as all the world people think. He is a girls player and he acts like girlish. His tricks now are common and I dont think he can do much, most of the times he is lucky to shoot for goals. There are others many better than him. I dont think he deserves that much amount.
He is not bad but not of that calibre.

Why so much?
by Wilfred Felixraj on Jun 12, 2009 04:44 PM

Its not about how much you pay to get some player into the team but its about how they are made to play as team.Ronaldo for sure is not a team player. He is so selfish that he has made hsi team miss out twice the chances his team would have scored to what he has scored for his team now.Look at Arsenal, thay donot have have great stars.Stars are made there.Young team and they are still competent to win any match against any team.

Miss you

We will miss you Ronnie..you were terrific and always played your heart out at OT. Lets hope United get one world class winger and another world class CM/AM, which is their weakness now...with scholes too old.

Cristiano is of a different league. Players like Pele & Maradona must be lamanting this type of money. Being a fan of the Red Devils, I wish him all the best. BUT he must keep his head on his shoulder. There are moments he looses it. Miss you Cristiano at Old trafford. it will never be the same again.

Can't wait for the 09-10 season to start
by rahul babbar on Jun 12, 2009 03:30 PM

I just cannot wait for the 09-10 season to start...it is going to be a tough battle in the EPL with ManCity trying to match the big four....and interesting battles in the La Liga...
but the best will be the Champions League..considering Real Madrid will be much stronger, so will be pressure on them to win....and it will be good watching the 9 time Champions fighting against some quality opposition and trying to reverse their fortunes in the Europe's premier football club competetion(ie. the Champions League)...

Nice player but ...
by Narakasur on Jun 12, 2009 02:37 PM

Nice player but I love to hate him for his antics .. Will be interesting to see how real Madrid is able to manage him. He needs a coach with bigger to manage him. jose mourinho or Ferguson can do it but am not sure if Manuel Pellegrini can.
