I fail to understand where kerala is in terms of Indian Football. Once upon a time they were only super power along with Bengal which ruled the roost in indian football. Ironically, teams like TN and Punjab have improved so much which is pleasing. However, overall indian football standard it seems is still patheticaly modest.

Kerala struggled to get past a medicore Maharashtra in the pre-quarter, whereas Goa pumped in as many as 5 goals against the same Maharashtra. Now you can understand where Kerala football stands today. It is good that they have not advanced further. Otherwise, it should have been kerala instead of Maharashtra at the receiving end against Goa. They avoided the shame of losing to a tennis score!

U say Overall Indian Football is ...... Coz above 90% Indian Population know only about Entertainment(cricket) n have forgotten India's Pride in HOCKEY and other sports like football ... we Indians wake up only once ever 4 year @ OLYMPICS n wonder why medals r not coming......

When the national football was still going on, our media gave a damn importance to this event. Instead I have seen one of the channels beaming an inconsequential practice match between two cricket playing nations prior to the current T20 World cup. It is a visual cycle. The media say they serve what the public needs. And if someone report or telecast some football match or hockey match, there will be no viewers, and such channels will have a poor TRP rating.
