Its not that you need to fail always/at crucial times since its a team game. We have seen in cricket people single handedly win a game at crucial times...

Boring Final!
by laishram guneshwor on Jun 08, 2009 02:05 PM  | Hide replies

Congratulation to Federer. But sundays' french open final will be remembered as one of the most boring final - where the usual routine of Federer whipping his hapless opponents (he has whipped Soderling 9 times earlier also) was repeated.Soderling has proved that his win over Nadai was a fluke/accidental. He is no match for Federer. And for Federer, his win yesterday would have been much more sweeter and appreciated had he beaten Nadal -rather than a helpless opponent.Nadal's absence was clearly felt by tennis fans - only he could have brought life to what unfortunately turn out to be a boring final which seemed as an exercise to increase Federer's GS tally.

Mr.Laishram: Federer did not ask Nadal to lose to Soderling. Soderling slayed Nadal fair and square. Federer slayed Soderling fair and square. Appreciate the greatness of Federer instead of whining about Nadal being not there. Believe me, Nadal will never achieve the type of records that Federer has even if Nadal plays a lifetime! For example, 20 consecutive Grand Slam Semis (18 of them finals) and 25 consecutive Finals victories, just to name 2.

You don't have the correct information. Ok if you think Fed is very great, let me ask you how many GS titles he has when he was at Nadal's age?? You will be shocked to know that Nadal may break all of Fed's so called records.
Regarding Nadal's absence in the final, i am not complaining - he deserves what he got at Soderling's hand. As a tennis lover, i was bored to see the one sided final which lacked any kind of competition. From the first service onwards, the game's destiny was known.
Hope U get my point. Frankly i am just a tennis lover. I don't believe in being someone's fan but want to a fan of the game. That is it.

I dont believe in your comments. He can win only French open comfortably, to get any other grandslam he has to struggle alot, so defending on only french he cant over take Fedex.

Let me also ask this question. How many titles Fed has (not just GS) when he was at Nadal's age??

There was one mather folking astrologer on the same board.

One year back after wimbldon defeat he was predicting about Fedex that e is not going to win single grandslam any more & he is going to retire soon.

Right now where that astrologer is folking to ???

Coronation of Roger Federer!
by VASUDEVAN V on Jun 08, 2009 01:11 PM

At 8.35 IST on Sunday the 7th June 2009, Roger Federer was crowned as the King of Tennis in front of a huge Parisian crowd, who vociferously applauded the Champion. The honour was done by his immediately preceding career grandslam winner, Andre Agassi. Roger's opponent in the final, Robin Soderling, said that he lost to the best player in Tennis history. With the goat off his back, one can expect greater things from the `out of form' Roger. Why the `out of form' tag? Eversince Roger lost in the Semis of Australian Open 2008, Djokovic, Roger has been written off, more so as he has been beaten by Nadal repeatedly. In the year 2008, except his performance in the Grand Slams, he won only the grass court tournament in Halle, where he is the only top player every year. This year also, except for winning the Madrid Masters, he has been losing in other tournaments, except, as always Grand Slams. So, I said `out of form' Roger. Let us compare the Grand Slam performances of all conquering Nadal and `out of form' Roger since the beginning of 2008:

Nadal: Total Grand Slams played: 6 - won three beating Roger in the finals in all 3. Two Semi-finals (Australian and US Open of 2008) and 4th round in this year's French open:
Roger: Played 6: Semis -1 (Australian Open 2008)- 5 Finals - Won 2. Thank God Roger was `out of form' since the beginning of 2008. Just imagine what would have happened if he was in form!!!
