I am overwhelmed by my best friend's remarks that I am better than him and that he has learnt a lot from me. It is true for me also. What is consistency in sports is 'Federer'. I wish you all good luck for the French title. Bye till we meet late evening today after your SF match. Rafael Nadal
My dear Fans, During my win at Wimbledon 2007 (5 tough sets) I had mentioned : "Nadal is chasing me and I should try to take as many titles as I can before he takes over". That time started last Wimbledon and there is no doubt that I have learnt a lot from Nadal(my best friend - off court), he a true sportsman, plays with right spirit and is a role model for younger generations. It is so nice of him to say that "According to me Federer is No.1" but according to me Nadal is No.1 Please watch my match today with Del Porto and wish me good luck. Feddie
Look friends, some time I support Federer and sometime I support Nadal. In fact I am confused who is better. So I will be a "Umbrella Party", I am there where there is rain.

No I am not. Nadal is positively better, though Federer may be the Greatest ever. This may look like a paradox, but there is no confusion. Nadal is better. He will retire with a positive Head to Head against Federer, no matter how many semi-finals Federer reches in his career. As for somebody taking my id, I do not mind at all. It gives me some false pride of having done something, for which people are trying to imitate me.

It doesn't matter what is head to head record. What is their winning percentage in singles and how many titles they won will matter. Winning percentage looks equal but sure Nadal will face many defeats as time will progress.

Dear Mam, then why do you say - Federer has a better record at Roland Garros than Nadal. He has reached 5 semi-finals, to Nadal's 4. Is it not confusing ?
Re: Re: Re: I change side
by aishwarya patil on Jun 05, 2009 12:17 PM
Hai Swathi I think too much is being made of Federer's record of reaching GS Semi-finals. Winning them is more important than reaching semi-finals. Had it not been so, Federer may be considered to have done better than Nadal at Roland Garros, having reached 5 semi-finals (and not won even once). This is sheer nonsense.

Plz Don,t Fight. Both Rafa and Fedex are good friends. Nadal also wants Fedex should win this year's French Open

Oh no. Mr. Singh. Just like I am a fan of both Nadal and Federer, I am also a fan of Anurag Rathore. How earnestly he has been defending his hero! It is very touching. There is no fight between us. It is just for fun. You can relax. But Nadal is better. How say you?
Re: Re: aishwarya patil

Dear Mr.Anurag, Federer has lost 149 matches in 8 years => 19 matches in a year ; 8 years out of which 5 years was at peak. Can you analyse this ?
Re: Re: Re: aishwarya patil
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 05, 2009 11:49 AM
5 years at peak! Is it not enough? While Nadal has started losing just after 1 year of his peak.
Should Federer be able to win this Championship, he will rightfully be talked of, as the Greatest Ever. He will continue to be talked of as the Greatest Ever, till his record is overtaken by Nadal, in a few years' time. Federer may be the Greatest ever, but Nadal is one better than him. Proof? Their Head to Head record, built over 20 matches. Come to think of it Nadal may win 14 Grand Slam Titles at Roland Garros alone!

Yeah very much right, Federer for the past 5 years has never reached semi finals in all the grand slam events, He has lost most of the grand slam events in the 3rd or 4th round. Hence, he will not be the greatest ever as your suggestions are.

You think you have posted a great sarcastic reply don't you? For me, I do not even find funny. Please read my message again. You seem to have missed the word 'rightfully' altogether. Not only that. You have also missed the part about 'till his record is overtaken by Nadal' part. Even if Nadal is not able to surpass the no. of Slams won by Federer (which I think he will), and even if he is not able to reach as many semi-finals as Federer, Nadal will always be talked of as someone who was never overawed by Federer. Historians will record, that Federer was the Greatest ever, but...... Nadal won twice as many matches against him as he lost. And do not ignore the 20 matches over which this record has been built. It is not a one-off; like Paes-Sampras Head to Head. That is why I say: Federer may be the Greatest Ever, but Nadal is better than him.

If Soderling can pass the tough test against Gonzalez,he will blow away Fedex, like a piece of scrap paper.
the matches are getting dull now a days.... since no great aussie is playing at the top level these days.... one can never forget the days of rod laver when he used to play flawless game.
Fedex's look of releif that Rafa is away proves his deep seated phobia of Rafa. That way he will never beat Rafa.He is scared, plain and simple scared.Rafa can scare him even in his dreams. In any case I dont think he will win the French. It's gonna remain a dream forever.Fedex is finished, now his role is limited to losing to Rafa in finals, or to someone else in the rare case that Rafa doesnt make it.

by easwaran easwaran on Jun 04, 2009 08:42 PM
People like you said the same last year(at french open) that he is finished but what to do he is really finished, he did not reach finals of Wimbledon 2008, he did not win US open 2008 he never reached finals of Aus open 2009 and latest he lost 4th round in French open. Hats off to your analysis.

Unfortunately, Rafa loses to lesser players than Federer. What does it prove? Federer is a much greater player than Rafa. Some of the records that Federer has achieved (not just on Clay, remember -most of Rafa's records are on Clay including 23 of his 38 titles)will never be achieved by Rafa. If Rafa is so great, here is a simple challenge - let him reach the Semi-finals of the next 20 consecutive Grandslams. Thereafter you, Mr.Anurag Rathor, and Rafa can talk about Federer and his game. Federer may be scared of Rafa, but Rafa is scared of Federer's record because he knows he can never never achieve them!

I agree with you. Nadal is dependent on his strength and stamina. He has 2 years more to grasp as many titles as he can, but I don't think Nadal will win any more grandslam except French Open.

Vas Deferens, why dont you jog your memory and list the number of players who have derailed Fedex since last year?

2 months ago you claimed Federer can beat Nadal only in his dream. What you say about Madrid final?

What about Madrid final! Federer thrashed Nadal on his own backyard.
