Andy and Roger a dignified match
by Devika Tripathi on Jul 06, 2009 02:18 PM  | Hide replies

Federer must have won. Congrats. But sometimes it is about losing gracefully. Andy you played extremely well and I am sure you will Wimbledon and perhaps even more slams. Sometimes it is nt about winning 15 or16 slams, it is about the impact you leave. So like others I don't really want to congratulate Federer but hats off to ANDY RODDICK.

Almost anyone who watched the match must have felt happy for federer and sorry for Andy. But i also felt sorry for mixed doubles team, bcos moment fedex match got over, court was left with 10% audience remaining and celebrity box bacame empty.

Federer finally breaks roddick and wins.(leads head to head 19-2)
by nat sam on Jul 06, 2009 11:43 AM  | Hide replies

In y'days match federer could not break roddick's serve for entire four hours. The only time he managed to break gave him the win. Hats off to the fitness of both players. even after playing 4 hours with out any injury bresks or time offs, looked totally fresh as if they are ready for another match.

In previous 20 meetings, results never went to 5 sets. This is the 1st time they both went for a 5 setter. Roddick at his peak form of his life, the way he fought through out the match was a stunning display. It was fun to watch him apologize to pete sampras saying that he tried his best.

Hats off to Fedex !

I was so happy to see him win. But I did feel sad for Andy Roddick. May be destiny always favour those who are on the verge of walking into history. I sincerely hope that one day Andy Roddick will win at Wimbledon.

Congrats Fedex for his 15th grand slam

True any tennis player who has ever been ranked in top 10 is a top
plyr
tennis is the most competitive sport coz of its profile and coz its an individual sport
one feels sorry for andy roddick, he choked but played overall better than feddy
i can only say that one is lucky to have had feddy and laver
laver and fedex are champs
tennis has a different history
in the past-grand slams were not most important and hence plyrs like laver turned pro
one salutes laver and feddy
great champs.
we wud never know how great feddy is as he said himself
coz you cant compare opponents of the best players of their time and coz majors were not considered so important before
rod laver missed 100s of majors coz of turning pro and contracted pro and was not allowed to play
those days, all best plyrs turned pro
laver has won a stagerring 199 singles titles plus any no of doubles and mixed doubles
the great laver wud have won many more than his 11 singles majors
he missed 21 in a row and more just before sweeping all in 69 and after sweeping all in 62 when he use to win every match
he missed many in the 70s too
he was a true legend
people who saw him play at his peak or othrwise say its laver first and then daylight
he is someone with most kind and humble words
long live laver
the champion
likewise maragret court wud have won more than her record 24 singles majors anyway-shes the best ever
i dont read posts i dont reply to

There is always a thin margin between who deserves and who wins and the person who wins makes history. Long live Federer.
