Gone are the days when we witnessed Grass Court Tennis at Wimbledon. For some inexlicable reason, the Courts have become too slow, and the ball is bouncing as high as the players' shoulders a la Roland Garros. Had it not been the case, likes of Nadal could never have won at Wimbledon. Even Federer is a Clay Courter. Very rarely he ventures to come to the net, and almost never after a serve. I think Tim Henman was as good a Grass Court player as any we have had in recent times, but he could not succeed at Wimbledon, because the courts have been behaving like Clay Courts. May be it is because of the heat, but it is a tragedy. All England Lawn Tennis and Crocquet Club should relay the grass, to make Wimbledon a genuine Grass Court tournament.

For Nadal & Federer, I can assure you, you may design a new surface for the court, they would still be the ones reaching the finals on those surface. At the top-most level of sports, it's not as much the physical attributes or born "genius" thing or outside factors. It's about being more mentally prepared and conditioned. It's there in the mind. I believe if that was not the case, you would have seen more from Djokovic, Tsonga, Safin, Gasquet and others in GS.

I agree with you. We have seen Federer service was also broken sometimes in Wimbledon. At Sampras time it was almost impossible to break Sampras serve on Grass. Nowadays Grass courts has become slow.
all the three semifinalists are much behind fedex in terms of touch, serve, volley, return, wit, fitness and luck!!! so fedie is unstoppable once again.
