How come there has been no coverage of Yuki Bhambri at the Australian Open. He has won the Junior Boys title

Crass scheduling!
by shiva on Jan 31, 2009 07:43 AM

The opponents cannot be chosen, just like parents! Sigh! But scheduling, yes! The world is just not fair! Federer had an easier time with the mostly mis-firing Roddyck & the earlier dim-wits! Nadal had to play rock-solid Verdasco! As the game unfolded, Federer would have been having a good laugh. He was shaking his legs wherever, as the Spanish metadors went at each other's throat!

To give an additional day for one, is not fair! Both should have equal opportunity to get the day off! Otherwise more than the players, the match can be a mis-match with one burnt-out before the actual action! It can turn out as a damp-quib even otherwise, in the furnace-like conditions!

Hope Nadal can recover as he is one of the few to give the fighting best. The joker would have failed to start in similar conditions! Davydenko, thrown in the towel after after one set!

One of the Greatest Games

Both of them played superbly. Especially Verdasco. I wish he learns from this game, the positives and negatives and improves in future. Looks to be great player in making. Nadal, his experience got him the victory. Very patiently played. All the best for final. Expecting a game similar to Wimbledon 2008 final.

Bravo, Fernando, bravo!

Great match, indeed! Some amazing energy-sapping rallies too. It's sad that Verdasco had to lose to his more experienced compatriot, top-seed Nadal. Now we wait for a great final between old rivals. May the best player win.
Let's also hope that Mahesh wins both the finals :-)!

Nadal survives Verdasco, in final

Not only this was the longest but one of the greatest semi final matches of the open era. Verdasco played a fantastic game and at one stage, seemed to defeat Nadal. Unfortunately, he double faulted twice in the final set and lost the match. Nadal won because he held his nerves intact.

yea..its called big match experience. Its always tough for guys who don't have experience playing big matches to play against those who have. But I think Nadal would not have made it if it was Murray.
