What about Chess? Indians are dominating the world.
Indians have mind while other countries people don't have.

Poor Sania
by Anand Babu on Jan 22, 2009 03:41 PM  | Hide replies

When people don't find anything interesting to talk about, they start criticizing Sania. That is the best way I can put it.

Don't forget ppl..She is still the best Indian player - best among the hundreds and thousands of gals who play the sport.

At this young age she has achieved what many people can only dream of. It takes lot of discipline and hardwork to come to a position where she is in.

"The opponent's serves are not the only ones that she has to face while playing". She has to face criticisms about the way she dresses dressed, the way she plays and what not.

Leave the poor gal alone. She knows tennis better than most of us do.

Sania's performance
by Krishnappa on Jan 22, 2009 03:39 PM  | Hide replies

It is not fair to consider assessment of Sania's perfomrance as criticism. Whether a boy or a girl, it is performance and consistency that count. And Sania lacks motivation and consistency. This is because of hype about her rasie to 30th place as a women's tennis player and consequent award of 'Padma sree'. Let us train hard, get motivated and fight for every point than casually giving up the match.

Hope either Sania or her followers would take true and sincere assessment of her game in the right spirit. I think nobody means anything bad to Sania.

sania is just a victim of her own religion who are expecting Sania to play tennis by wearing burkha. When these people will come out of their illeteracy. Sania is just a victim of their own religion who just criticise her rather appreciating her. Otherwise she would have broken into top 10 women players in the world.

Come on boss they don't get the leeway and publicity like Sania does...Why do you compare apples with Oranges ? . Sania has lots of sponsors and whether she wins or loses she atleast gets 4-5 matches in any tournament. Which means she makes a cool of $ 10,000 which is cheap takes for most players...She is simply minting money for the heck of it and going on without any luck in any of the tournament...Maybe she plans to become a model or actress...Its better she puts her heart and soul into tennis rather than other irrelevant things which are taking her sheen away....

sania mirza(a miraculous girl)
by r karthikeyan on Jan 22, 2009 02:50 PM  | Hide replies

sania mirza is a girl who rotates strike in tennis where she has done lot of good in tennis.tennis is still in backseat in india because leander paes and mahesh bhupti are still fighting for indian tennis in australian open.it is still stupid to say leander paes is without indian tennis since he was the one who opened indian tennis hearts with bronze medal in atlanta olympics after that indian tennis in now under sania-mirza's shoes since she knows how to deal with indian tennis partisanship and lee-bhupati from where india is moving forward.it will important from her to come good with bhupati in mixed-doubles since india respects elders in tennis matters alone.tennis without sania mirza is tennis without a woman.grat going indian girl!congrats for being in second round.except more from you from now on!

Kudos to Rediff for not using another headline "Sania crashes out in 1st/2nd Round" this time ! We are tired & sick of hearing the same news on Sania, time & again. Kindly ensure that you do not give Sania the privilege of a similar headline at the end of her Mixed Doubles campaign. Also, kindly do not put her age-old excuse of "Coming out of Injury" on the headlines. Rediff, Please keep up the good work.

Its better she takes either to modelling or become an actress and try her skills elsewhere...Its no use that she keeps beating round the bush...I think she is doing things with a half-hearted campaign...She won't get past the 3-4 round if she continues to do so...

1. Lacks ambition
2. Lacks killer instinct
3. Is content just to be the best Indian women's tennis player, no matter that on the international ranking, she is a nobody.
