" Somdev is the only second Indian player in recent times to make the final of an ATP Tour event.
Prakash Amritraj had reached the final of Hall of Fame Tennis championship in Newport, United States, in July last year. "
Prakash Amritraj is not an Indian. He is an American! He is a 2 headed snake, who wants to earn money by using India's name and also hold an American passport.

Evn u.k and aussie cricket players can't be termed as racist, as its the indian public nd guys like who ar the biggest racist nd wht makes it worse is tht ur racist against ur own country men. Pity on you!!!
Evn somdev is trained in u.s nd his sucess is mainly attributed to U of Virginia coach, nd not an iota of success can be due to being in india. So accordin to u this makes him a 1 headed snake who wnts to earn money by using india's name. He can be trained in india like any of fellow teammates, bt he chose to train in u.s nd uses the america to win fr ur country.
Somdev is jst like prakash as he is contributing to taking indian tennis higher nd loves playin for india.
Otherwise prakash nd somdev have same stats as whn they played in college tennis, they wer among the best players in america nd cud hav gone nd played for america.
Judgin people based on the passport shows the indian public ar exactly like their politicians who run sports, nd wnts to kick out players jst based on passport as if indian athletes can do anything on their own.
Somdev, prakash, sunitha rao, sania mirza, leander paes, bhupahthi, anju bobby george, bindra all proved tht india has got nothing to take them to the next level. They have to go abroad nd train or get foreign coaches nd what a difference tht makes.
I don't know whtr the govt. knows this bt evn the sports ministry is playin jackyl nd hyde when objecting foreign "indian" athletes, nd allowin foreign coaches to train athletes.

Hello..
Do u know anything like "wikipedia"..pls look for Somdev in it and check where his parents live. His parents reside in Assam, Somdev is born in Assam. Have you seen his interview..he speaks english in total indian accent...american born cannot do that.

You can see his interview on u of virginia nd he speaks w.american accent.
He has lived in america obvioulsy b.c he attends university which is a 4yr college. He also continues to train there nd he'll be goin bck to train ovr there.
So its upto him to take up u.s passport nd i think he'll do tht once he decides he settles over there.
Atleast learn to respect the country tht taught him to be a success nd this is why he has beaten top world tennis players.
He's playin fr india like prakash, or sunitha rao who wants to take the indian tennis higher nd contribute evn though they ar not trained in india.

why are you so upset on him...he is not playing using any india's quota neither he is depriving somebody else from india...
Your are sure an inspiration to all those who play and watch tennis, continue to do so and let each match be a stepping stone to better your shots to succeed.
we have thousands of somdevs sainas and virendars living in our towns and villages .if given proper facilities they can come up in any field.they will be havingthe grit and determination to succeed as the life they are leading teaches them tofight each inch of the way with minimum facilities.
U R rocking bro.... sach hai... u can do this n many more of such!!! all eyes of indian tennis r on u... U r the future of india in tennis... Vande Matram
Indian government should start investing on other sports apart from cricket. If only players like Somdev, Sania, Saina, Jijender get the world class facilities like our cricketers, they can also win major trophies.

Indian GOVT is not investing on cricket. It is just the popularuty of this game. Every country has a game that their people are very fond of. Cricket is for India, American football for US and soccer in Europe. NOthing wrong with that.

Everything wrong with that!!! USA is a world beater in american football. France/Germany from europe are soccer champions in world full of soccer. Can you please explain apart from the world cup win in 1983, are we still No 1 in a sport that is played by 11 nations. WAKE UP AND SUPPORT THE GAME THAT AS INDIANS WILL BE PROUD OF IN A SPORT PLAYED BY THE WORLD --- could be Soccer.
