This guy, Somdev, has beat the 26th Ranked (4th Seed in the tournament) Ivo Karlovic in straight sets. Tennis experts, please check your tennis knowledge. This is not the same case when you play in the evening at the high end clubs. Buggers!
What nonsense counter puncher , I did right things at the end etc. First register wins against bigger players consistently and then we will talk about ur counter punching. Nahin tho like Paes and Bhupathi, you will be left playing doubles.

Wahid & Vinay... you guys are 2 big loosers... Somdev has talent & you will see the results very soon... he will easily break in to Top 100 in 2009
Please dont make a big deal out of his victory. I hope it is not a fluke. This dude needs to win consistently and against bigger players. He is not young but pretty old now at 23.Tennis players typically lose steam by 26-27, so this lad has 3-4 years to go. I guess he should shut his trap and try to get the maximum out the remaining 3-4 years.

Did you ever heard of Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras?? Do you know at what age did they retire? And what age did they honored? And their greatest records created at what age??

well said, bro..they beat retirees who can barely move (I mean, wtf's heard about Moya in a Grand Slam or any international circuit in the last freakin' 2-3 years anyway?). This moron is just another flash in the pan. Nowhere near even the shoe laces of Paes. Ask him to first secure even a bronze medal for India at the Olympics and we'll know his true class.

Somdev is ranked 202 in ATP circuit. Moya is ranked 42. Prakash is 206, Rajeev Ram is 206 and Rohan Bopanna is 332. Naturally Somdev is excited. This is still a major tournament. Even Davydenko who is # 5 participated. So you are being too critical of Somdev. By the way what have you achieved in your life?

i think all of you naysayers have issues. somdev may be 23, but he is fresh on tour. the grind of the tour is what makes people "be done" by the time they are 26. most of them were out there from the time they were 17. somdev is fresh. and perhaps more importantly for his country, he is a fresh face. he did not sound arrogant. he sounded realistic. he didnt claim to be a world beater. he claimed to be a counter puncher. since when is saying that arrogant? and of course he has not done what paes and buphathi have! they have been out there for years. but if you love them so much, listen to what they say, as they have both been quoted saying somdev is india's top hope for years to come. so join them, and give somdev his respect. he is a great young man, a great role model, and a great representative for india.
