Prakash goes down fighting
by Virendra Singh on Jan 06, 2009 03:18 PM

He played really bad and he should not have any set but for equally bad playing Rainer. Even worse was pair of Yuki and Harsh Mankad. That fellow Harsh was playing so stupidly, I don;t know how he got chance to play in such event. Yuki does seems promising. Hopes lie with Somdev and Bopanna now.

...with no discipline whatsoever. Apart from Paes, the rest are trash - no wonder they hated him. Paes should've chucked his doubles career with that moron Hesh, and gone on with singles - he was on a high and beat Sampras when it happened.

Is amrtiraj eligible to play fr india.
by Devin Aaron on Jan 06, 2009 02:15 AM

Frm wht i undrstnd amritraj has alrdy qualified fr this tournament so he has to perform anyways, since he has gottn a wild card. Accordin to international tennis fed., all qualified playrs fr this tournament have to play since thy alrdy applied to compete.

Seems like withdrawin frm this tournamnt is between ITA nd the players, not between players nd govt.policy objectin them to play fr india fr passport reasons.

So whts in store fr the plyrs tht is effctd by the policy who didn't qualify fr this tournament. Is tht mean thy have to gt a passport.

I guess its between indian tennis fed. nd the sports ministry to sort out this problem, since the indian tennis fed. hav admitted to go by the rules nd help the players to gt a passport. They cn gt indian pass. if they ar only eligible to gt one, again by the rules thts alrdy writtn fr OCI's or PIO's.

Prakash turnd pro in 03 nd hav been playin fr india since then, hope he hd upgrded frm PIO-OCI, since OCI hs only be pt into effct in 06. Also, if he styd in india fr # of yrs tht he is eligible to gt passport, i think he'll be able to rpsrsnt india.
