you are right, and what about cricket, they are doing well only this year. did you forget the first round exit in the world cup? after spending all this money and getting paid... the money spent of cricket is many times more than all other sports put together. I CHEER THE HOCKEY TEAM FOR ITS WONDERFUL COMEBACK AFTER a disaster for 2 yrs- and they neither get the facilities or mony like the cricketiers
I think India played a good controlled game, but somehow, the attack did not show that dash and flair which we are capable of...and our old weakness of poor finishing again showed up...anyway, all said and done, it was a victory for hockey in India if the crowd turnout is taken into consideration. Charles Farias, Muscat
I expected a bigger margin of defeat. Better performance (probably best in this tournament) but still way off the best teams. Our tactics are NIL (we played 5-3-2-1)and this coach brings no new ideas.
This is NOT an U19 Dutch team, but mixture of (5-6)established players and new, young blood. The full team may have won by 2-3 goal margin.
its really gr8 to know india can now match the best of the world.
let indian hockey grow more pastures ... and keep all the world on the edge... with their artistic display of play. Indians plays with the heart, so 70 min.. is not just enough to show their might to the world. I hope indians can show their real mettle again n again from now.
Till we consider that INDIA consists of only Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, Madras & Chandigarh ...till then we will not improve...INDIA is a huge country we have to think about rural INDIA. Hockey remains in the blood of ORISSA & JHARKHAND people. Call the from these state, INDIA will definitly WIN. But if you will select player from PUNJAB, HARIYANA ( so that selectors can earn money) YOU WILL GET THIS KIND OF RESULT ( which is not surprising)
expected result as usual .. nothing new ... choke in the final blow ... this not about Hockey... this is with is country handling all the issues I live in... rellay frustrated ...
