should be more commercial in nature like football, cricket etc. A team game with amateur performers will not bring the best out of anybody. Nobody remembers hockey playes worldwide, like how the cricketers, footballers, tennis players, golf players are famous.
Germany and Holland have not sent their best players. And still India is losing or struggling to win. India is one of the worst hockey teams today. But the expectation to win is as if they have been winning all along. The last time India won a major tournament was 34 years ago. So quit hoping India will ever win again. Even Pakistan is in the same situation as India is. And Pakistan was better than India in hockey all along.
