good to see some discussions among some of the hockey lovers..At least rediff starts giving updates of this tournament. But this tournament shouid have been lively Broadcast.
My Hearty congrats to Indian Hockey Team for their fabulous performance. Congrats Hareendra Singh....Coach of Indian Team.He can do wonders to Indian Team.
shahrukh's movie chak de india was a superhit,but the way he now bidding for cricket players shows how even the celebrities like him doesnt care about the hockey-which even he played during his college days
just months after firing KPS gill, our hockey team is doing wonders. under gill's regime, we failed to qualify for olympics, which was the biggest shame for our team in the history of the game. remove dirty politicians from other games like soccer, track and field events and then see what indian talent can do.
In the age of commercialization, it all boils down to economics. If viewers watch (thats us), then television covers, and when it covers our team gets attention, when they get attention, sponsorship follows, I guess the starting point should be today's youth (us) to take interest in hockey-it is a fantastic game to stamina and skill. Also at present hockey is popular in very small segment-Punjab, TN, Maharashtha, Orissa and Jharkhand, places like West Bengal, ehich hosts the oldest hockey tourney in India-"The Beighton Cup" has no hockey audience. Hence,the administrators of hockey should also concentrate on spreading the game in the grassroots. I guess we have the talent, we just need the grooming.

they able to beat germany and draw with holland bcoz they are not play with their best team , these teams have sent their reserves or new comers to test their mettle , so need to jump in joy .

this is due to us only why we do not demand same support to hockey ,even hockey player do not show consistency and we loose interest

Friend how many times did India win world cup in cricket to say that we are consistent ...? at least we get some medal in Olympics consistently till last Olympics was just because of hockey.... not even 1 % of the money that is spent on cricket is spent on hockey so how do you expect talented youth to take up such games...?

what ever u said is absolutely right......why the medias give importance to cricket only.....the hockey team showing a good team work in this tournament.so the media should have give importance to hockey also.because these players are also playing for india

they cant even show the match on being the national game then the craze for hockey will nt be there cricket will go ahead in india nthng can change the system
