there is large scale misconception in indian public vis a vis international sports. the indian media doesnt help either. lets put things straight- doubles matches are under represented and no serious player plays them. to give you an idea just look at this: the top serve speed Leander Paes reached was 120mph compare this with Serena Williams(yes being a woman) her record serve speed is 127mph Its no harm in playing doubles, but fooling public is no fun. esp media should atleast bring out the distinction, to give our youngsters to look to play in singles and make a career in it.
Am I really seeing Rediff?? Have we become matured suddenly? No hatred coments so far? Common guys show true face of Indians...oops sorry.. rediff readers...

I quite agree with you Real Indian. readers here have been quick and fast in slagging the players. Now suddenly all have disappear. Then who cares about them. We who appreciate the game and the players are happy thats what counts.
