Fedex vs Rafa

Federer plays classic tennis while Rafa is pure power play. I guess Power tennis rules the World these days.

Federer would be lucky if he overtakes Sampras

Nadal lost 2 Wimbledon finals to Federer.... He never cried publicly

Nadal meanwhile was being branded only as a clay court fluke.... He never cried publicly

He channeized his energies to improving his game - His service, greater top spin forehand, generating greater consistency (keeping the ball in) and back hand.

He further seems to have improved on his fitness.

He had a dedicated coach and worked along with him

Federer Cried. He dissipated his anger / energy by crying. He may get a coach, try out newer techniques. But to perfect those new approaches, he needs to stop crying and channelize his anger as Nadal

Federer's Unforced Errors did him in
by Ruchi on Feb 03, 2009 02:07 PM

Federer seemed to be in his best forms in recent times....and Nadal was also playing well....But Nadal's semi final clash, was a reminder of the fact this this was his least favourite surface...

If Nadal hadnt won the 3rd set in the final...thn maybe the result wud've been different....Nadal didn't play as well as he'd played in Wimbledon final 2008.....but sadly end result was same......

And although Rafa played well, he wouldn't have been able to accomplish this feat without the help from Federer's nervousness, both at match beginning and in last set....and his long list of unforced errors....

It seemed like Federer wasn't prepared to c Nadal perform all guns blazing in the 5th set, wven though he'd played aa marathon 5-setter less than 2 days ago....when he saw that the Nadal machine was going on and on inspite of the fatigue, he lost heart....

Perhaps thats why the great Federer wept inconsolably, like a baby at the ending ceremony....because he know that it wasnt just Nadal who'd defeated him....it was he himself!!

Fedex lost it narrowly
by harish on Feb 02, 2009 04:29 PM

Roger Federer should have won the match. The fifth set was a disappointment. After Rafa broke his set it appeared as if he has gave up.. Clearly its nothing but a mental jinx. So sad

fedex...

Fedex , well this time he should have won . But he gifted the set (and the match) away with two sloppy service games. Nadal gets credit for hanging tough in the end, but it was on Fed’s racquet. This is one that got away. He had the momentum and the stamina to outlast Nadal but made too many unforced errors in the fifth…neways roger will be back.......
