The parent company Jordan was sold and resold again and again before taking over by Vijay Mallaya. He waited to gain knowledge and deliver when it matters. Now many new teams are coming this season Force India will be in leading teams for sure.

key word here is mallya owns a primarily british based team, that would mean that he owns a team which is based out of britain. Obviously, this is for reasons more out of compulsion. I don't really know what would classify a formula one team as indian, but calling it force india definitely doesn't. legall speaking it would be an indian team if it was registered in india as a company. So, mostly all of us are supporting a team which is british. I don't take away anything from the team, what they have achieved is really great. But the way the press (and to an extent mallya) are trying to sell it as an INDIAN team is really hilarious. All the technicians and drivers and god knows who else are not even remotely Indian, so please the press people, give the readers true facts and don't mislead them. A british company owned by an indian is not an indian company. Although, i would like someone to conquer this argument, to see if there does exist another credible argument to parade around calling it an indian team. So come hit me!!!

I find this situation similar to football. Many indians love & follow football very closely. Now when one does that he tends to support a team. But in global arena which team we support? We dont have any indian team that can compete with bayern or manchester or real. So we pick up a team of our choice and support them.
Now in india with so much of urbanisation we are having more and more F1 fans. Before force india, we used to support other teams on the basis of our likings. Now that we see something an indian connection, why dont we support Force India. We know very well that the team is silverstone based and is british. But being a F1 fan the only team that comes close to our heart is Force India. The owner is indian, they are talking about having an indian driver, they are planning to set up offices in india. So things are moving towards transforming the british team to an indian. I dont see much wrong about it.

I am an ardent fan of F1,and i have supported Force India from day one.To comment on such as that Mr. Mallaya owns an British team is not appropriate. So what if his team is based in Silverstone and employs foreign drivers.First of all i want to make clear that F1 is not merely a sport of emotions, you need to have the best technology, facility, talent and drivers to excel in F1.F1 is not cricket its technology and involves investment and requires resources.Talk of basing the Force India team in India is only appropriate when there is a proper track for F1(which doesn't not exist in India),good technology at your disposal and great talent at your disposal. You cant compete in F1 with inexperienced or untalented Indian drivers just to call yourself an Indian team.I am sure Mr. Mallaya will look into these aspects when the time is right with best facility, talent and resources at his disposal.

Mr.Mallaya is doing a wonderful job, atleast he's doing something good for his country, he makes sure that the Indian tri-colour is flying at the F-1 circuit, let it be with a british team, but don't forget that those britishers work for Mr. Mallaya. We all know that we don't have that technology and skills to match the F-1 pace, we don't have a F-1 track, leave alone everything else. Our drivers are not so well versed with tose conditions, so what Mr.Mallaya is doing for himself and the pride of the nation, we should be thankful to him as a F-1 fan. Hail Force-One.

OK. FI is a british team with Mallya as 50% owner. All the staff, techies, drivers are foreigners. So, there is nothing Indian about this.
Mallya has entered F1 primarily to promote his Kingfisher liquor and airlines brand. Nothing Indian or Patriotism about it. Please note. Mallya is a pure selfish businessman who try to exploit Indian sentiments.
Do you think Ferrari, McLaren and other team promoters are not patriotic?! Ofcourse they are! So, don't get fooled by Mallya, a liquor salesman!

Irrespective of Mr Mallaya good or bad person, if an indian has to support a team in the F1 circuit, Force India comes closest to our heart.
Winners know what to do if he looses, but lossers only plan what he does if he wins. The learning and experience is all that matters and the involvement itself is exilerating if done with all the heart. Good luck and best wishes to follow up the efforts.
VJ Mallya u made every indian proud and i am sure every indian would like to listen our national anthem at least once in 2010 on F1 podium. My best wishes to you and we all are looking forward ...

national anthem is unlilely in 2010. Therss no indian driver and the team is british. So even if Force india wins a race it would be british and german or italian national anthem. So may be in 2011!!! However im waiting for the news of Karun Chandok to get a F1 team
