Absolutely, money is not everything there are other great feelings such as the pride for our national game. Let me tell you frankly, I never found any other game as exciting as the 70 minutes nerve catching pace of the game of Hockey! It’s shameful that media sometimes doesn’t even cover the Hockey games India play.

Hockey is the best all round game, fast, energetic, exciting, nerve racking.
The players need speed, skill, endurance, stamina, wrist control, and have to be on the ball throughout.
What the FIH has to do to make the traditional and classic hockey back even on artificial turf, is to ban the aerial scooped ball, and for a goal, it should not merely be deflectd by the player inside to one sent from outside, but he must 'play' the ball at least.
Keep the ball on the field, and we have a game on.

I heard from my father and Uncles that India dominated the world of hockey and won the world cup in 1975, yet this National Sport could not attain the popularity of cricket, though Indian cricket team used to be thrashed by foreign teams.
India has won several tournaments, as compared to a few in cricket, in hockey and has ben performing well at International tournaments, yet it does not draw the attention of corporates as it does not have a mass appeal.
In cricket, win or lose does not matter, people go to see the sixes and fours, centuries and half centuries and enjoy personal landmarks of cricketers which is not found in hockey except for an high intensity exceitement of 70 minutes.

live coverage is of those super paid buggers who advertise, scandalise, drink screw and also play cricket and from whom no one expects anything. It will not be for hockey players who have to sleep in stuffy rooms , do not have proper meals, kits, coach and everyone expects them to win minimum olympic gold. CHUCK DE INDIA!!!!!!!!!!!
