He has advised that he needs approx 30 players who should do national duty & not waste time playing for clubs.
Only if India play more international matches will our ranking go up.
The Govt ( or they should rope in big some big indstrialists / sponsors )should pay the salaries to our national football team players, so that they do not need to play for clubs & can play fulltime for the national team.
Imagine what would be the consequence and state of affairs, if Cricket were to be brought under the purview of the Government of India a.k.a sports ministry a.k.a MS Gill

For me, cricket is a no-game compared to football. Look at the number of teams playing cricket - 10,11? out of which only 4-5 teams can be called competitive...is this a world sport? God NO! compare it with 100 good teams in football, the beautiful game.

The only organisation, which is outside the purview of the government is the most successful in our country (i.e. BCCI)
Its time football was delinked from the government and formed as a separate board on the lines of BCCI.

Dont compare australia with india. You must thank god that one sport is alive in india only becoz its not in the hands of politicians otherwise it would be like other sports in india.

the post s just a lie.. its nt fact.. try to find out out some truth and post.. not tat u hav to post always teasin india..
Even though i am a huge huge cricket fan. I was really disappointed yesterday. No cables in pune were showing zee sports and even news channels just showed all that for few minutes and got back to their boring debates of UPA and BJP. I am not against cricket as most of the people in this debate are but i really feel bad whenever i see other sports treated badly in india. I mean we as a country need to change our attitude towards sports specially old people and politicians like gill(useless guy). Can u imagine our sports budget its not even 100 crores. HAHA our population is more than that. Every politician has more money than that in swiss banks. HATS OFF TO OUR FOOTBALL TEAM.
Hearty congratulations to the Indian Football team.Subrato Paul deserves special kudos-for his incredible contribution. The GOI & the sports minister must initiate immediate steps to fund adequately to provide facilities to promote games such asfootball, hockey, tennis, badminton, volleyball etc
