SANIA MIRZA AND SAINA NEHWAL both have made INDIA proud
by mohammad zeeshan on Aug 15, 2009 01:30 PM

The whole world plays TENNIS but only a handful of the countries (South ASIA,DENMARK,ENGLAND) play Badminton hence there is less competition in Badminton.Whereas the players hve to slog it out in tennis because there are thousands and thousands of good players. But this doesnt undermine Saina nehwals achievement because what she has achieved we can only dream of and she has made us al proud.
ANOTHER REASON FOR SANIA'S HYPE IS THAT Tennis is very popular all the world round and also in India. This Can be gauged from the fact that while we know the names of most of the top tennis players we dont even know who is top ranked in Badminton. So sania mirza deserves all the attention she is getting and so is saina nehwal.Sania mirza has just won an ITF title and finished a runner up in another consecutive ITF title and the hype surrounding her is not unfounded. And anyways Sania is the no 1 tennis player in india so all the ones who are abusing SANia are indirectly abusing India.
Hence instead of undermining the achievements of great players lik Sania and Saina due to our petty mentality we should support all indian sportstars.

saina has let down the whole of haryana. eventhough she might be living in hyderabad, her native is hisar in haryana.

with both her parents good badminton players themselves for haryana. she has brought shame to haryana and false fame to hyderabad.

haryani saina must return to her hometown and start representing the states at national level. she doesnt even know telugu also.

very well said.. loser always have some excuse or the other and there goes her excuse of chicken pox.

her opponent is world number two and saina is only sixth. so even if she has stamina she needs lots of luck.

the chinese are power house of badminton.

Saina does not need any excuse. Winning and losing are parts and parcels of any game. She fought hard. Thats it. We have to support her.

Re: Saina has to grow-up

Yup you are right. Its badminton players with good reach and aggressive smashes are the ones who win. To overcome her shortnes she must leap into the air like a deer and play smashes continuouly.
