dont blame them
by samit on Aug 10, 2009 12:12 AM  | Hide replies

this was bound to happen... ppl are starting to realize the govt cannot protect citizens of this country... and poor infrastrucutre is just an indication of extreme corruption and money laundering.. it shows how much money gets spent on security as well.. infrastrucutre is a good indicator of security...

i dont blame them... life comes before anything else... sports is just entertainment..

i fully agree with u mr samit. it has become a routine now for various channels to airing terror threat to various cities of india. also y inteligence deptt is leaking that information. i think this is only public or political stunt. but wen any thing happens nobody knows

Shame
by Rushi on Aug 09, 2009 09:40 PM

Shame on england team because terrorist threat is also in england & UK and also on India media who always blow up un-important matters. I sometime really get disapointed when Indian media shows the news like "Minister ka kutta lapata, billi chajje pe fasi etc". What kind of college these journalists they graduate with, what do they teach them in there, bullll shitts.....

INDIAN media common, grow up. grow up... pls grow up..

Media

I guess one of the reasons for withdrawal was media.. As even the English badminton mgmt has made clear in their statement that security concerns were there in media too... most of the time media blow things which are not really required, specially Indian media. There are lot of matches that keep happening in other parts of the world and probably with much less of security and budget, but media never blow or try to just put anything in their newspapers or magazines to get readers.

I agree...moreover...why the hell was the need for the so called intelligence agencies to leak the news of possible terror strike..mayb, the threat was damn too real n serious and they envisioned this type of pullout...would make their job easier..would have nothing to do!

u think they should put their lives on the line to pay a sport ? if they dont feel confident of security, they have every right to pull out...

What? You want them to go to a place in spite of a terrorist threat? Will you go to Swat valley to play cricket or Kandahar for a volleyball game? How about a football game in Iraq?

What's the payoff? England gets a medal if everything goes swimmingly well. If things get messed up, England players will return home in a coffin. What's the risk to reward ratio here? It's only a stupid game.

Discretion is the better part of valour. Or, to put it in the words of General Patton, No b****rd ever won a war by dying for his country...

no surprise. Congress started it by not providing security to IPL. The message was clear : 'we are not capable for this'. Whatever reasons they give [ even if genuine ] are regardless.

uk is as much vulnerable
by Indian on Aug 09, 2009 08:27 PM  | Hide replies

UK is as much vulnerable, but do we withdraw players. There are more pakistanis / bangladeshi's in UK who are more prone to make such attacks.

GIFT OF CONGRESS
by Aries aries on Aug 09, 2009 07:33 PM  | Hide replies

Terrorists know that the SECULAR Congi government will not take any action against mozzie terrorists. The terrorists have no fear and burst bombs as if it is a yearlong Diwali.

Congress is not even having a strong law against terror just to please the muslim vote bank.

Country will pay a heavy price for electing this CONGRESS governmrnt.
