Somdev has the game to compete with the David Ferrers, Nalbandians, Haas' of the world....but he is definitely not a top 10 player as of now....has a long way to go!!
Only if he had the serve of Mahesh Bhupathi and the serve and volley and court coverage of Leander, he would have been a top 10 player by now.....

read the article fully and properly! the top 10 is not about himself, but about Cilic.
Looks like media picked up someone to start hyping. Now that sania is fading away they pick up somdev.
He still has a long of achieving to make. Just making even the main draw has become a big news article. If he wins 3rd round he might face roddick in the quarters. Now if he wins the quarters then thats something for media to go gaga..... which is unlikely. He is just a flash in the pan.

atleast somdev has reach the stage where he can beat good players too. why u r discouraging any player,u just sit in home, watch tv or do ur daily routine, and some time sit in internet and comment on any player. it's just disgusting. if u can't encourage anyone, then don't discourage also.

hello Mr... Please respect the sportsmen, you know how much harder to play internatinally. first know how much effort they are putting before coming into that position and also they are not getting any help from government and atlease from the people like you.. First know how to encourage or learn from china.... or just play one tennis game then you will know how much harder that game... you are the people, india does not want.
somdev is has good overall game. which is more like nadal, hewitt, etc, a retrieving type. if he gets his game into agassi or sampras type style then he could win atp tournaments also.
We always tell that other sports do not get sufficient backing, facilities and sponsors as cricket. We should keep in mind that no politian or company is responsible for that. Have we celebrated Somdev,s win the same way as we celebrate when India wins a 20-20 match. If we do this Somdev and other sports will definitely get Sponsors. It is the mango(aam) people who is responsible for the fate of other sports in India.

Cricket is a game of the masses. You find anywhere kids playing in streets, ground, houses, etc. So dont simply compare. Tennis is a individual event apart form doubles. How many would 've played tennis or how many have tennis racquets. Whereas its not so with cricket.

If it is the case, we should never complain about the fate of other sports in India, and let it the way it is doing.

Please dont include Sania Mirza in the same fategory as Somdev. She has not anything to make us proud rather disrespected the indian flag.

dont be gender biased. sania has done what he could. he is also a grand slam winner in mixed doubles. she has achieved no other women's tennis player from india has ever done.
