ok, dhoni & bhajji were reckless and irresponsible. how abt politicians gobbling and showing least respect for the value of fellow Indians? they are equal to shit. and shit does not have any value to comment on others.

okay abt politicians. but what abt the awards. award deserved the sanctity. dhoni bhajji cant gv disrespect to the awards.
THEY REPRESENT INDIA THEIR PAYMENTS COME FROM ADVERTISEMENTS/TV CHANNELS AIRING THE MATCHES IF THE INDIAN PUBLIC STARTS TAKING THEM CASUALLY,THEY HAVE SLOG FOR THEIR BREAD AND BUTTER,MONEY COMES FROM INDIA &INDIAN PUBLIC PAYS& MAKE THEM STARS IN SOUTH AFRICA LET"S SEE WHAT RESPONSE,THEY WILL GET
why we need to give awards to people who already have earned a lot of fame otherwise....why we all need filmstars/cricketers/comedians etc in elections..we really need to do something for this ...what contribution they will be making in debates... do they know anything about policy making in national intrest...its time our parliament is itself was a joke now its becoming a big comedy show...

Yes. In fact they dont need these CHEAP AWARDS WHICH ARE GIVEN TO CRIMINALS ALSO, JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE RECOMMENDED BY CENTRAL MINISTERS (JAIPAL REDDY)
Do the cricketers really need awards? All they are interested is in Mega-bucks? There are more deserving people for the awards. Is the sports ministry listening?
I am sure both Dhoni and Harbhajan are well aware of the importance of the National Awards. But if such awards are given out by some housewife, the importance (of the awards) goes away automatically.
I am sure, had APJ remained in the post, both the cricketers (as well as others) would have turned up in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
We know that the housewife doesn't have it in her to realise actually why nobody turned up, but I don't believe Mr. Gill is so unassuming not to understand the truth. Besides, the Queen is not a houswife. And vice versa.

It doesn't matter who the President is. The award is our Nation's. And it deserves to be respected

Come one Prashant, even an illiterate person understand this. But this person called Sanjay Guhat... does not even belong that category also, not to speak of illiterate ones.

ITS NOT PRESIDENT AWARDING SOMETHING ,ITS INDIA REWARDING THEM ,IF THEY THINK THEY DON"T CARE FOR INDIANS /INDIAN AWARDS THE DAY IS NOT FAR PEOPLE WILL ALSO REPAY THEM IN SAME COIN

From the logic used by this person with ID, Sanjay Gu..., it looks kike he is not an Indian.
Giving an award should bestow some honour to the reciepient. Recepient of an award should equally bestow an honour to the award itself. we know how political most of the awards have become. sub-conciously nost of us do not have much associated value for this bharat and padma awards ..
An honorable position of President of India is dragged down to gutters and cheaply politicalized. Degrees given by some big institutions like IISc or IIT are not given with care. The degrees look like cheap documents. An respectable director of AIIMS is treated as crap by leaders of our land. we know how india honours sports and sportsmen. Mr. Gill can cease being dramatic about this whle affair.
Re: Award should be giving in honor and received with honor
by viswanathan k on Apr 16, 2009 10:42 PM
aiims director misused his authority and hence deserved the crap
Deep down...it was not exciting/important enough for the players...rite!...that is the truth...but why has it lost its importance is interesting...i'll try to answer: * Crickers have become larger than life in our country...and i dont blame them for this! * Politicians have lost their significance. They are not treated seriously anyway... * Chalta hai attitude!...they should be made to understand the significance of these awards!...its an honour par excellence...but in our country who cares!...people who refute...dont try to be hypocrite...thats the truth...hota hai aisa...system bana deta hai...and we fall into the trap...too much philosophy...ahaaa! :)
Fact is, like all awardees, including Indian Gold Finger Abhinav Bindra they were intimated a month in advance. From all accounts like many Indian celebrities they did not inform the government that they would not be present to accept the honour. Anyway it matters little whether they did the RSVP or not. What matters is that they were back in India well before the awards function, they were clearly fit and able to travel to do other important things and they had chosen their priority.Quite obviously the Padma Awards don't matter to them Give me a chance to slap them i wud do it honourly.

i aint afraid to do it for those who do not respect national sentiments.

Mr. Siddiqui, I wish there many people in India who have similar feelings. However there is no need to slap these characterless players--Dhobi and Bhajji.
if you see the history, people who became arrogant with little success that too by luck and others contribution have only one way to go---that is down.
People like Dhanjay Kumarwho do not have their own goals and objectives in life are easy to get mad about media-hyped personalities cricketers like Dhobi and Bhajji

so you would slap anybody whose actions you don't condone of do you? hmmm is it me or does that sound like things which happen in our neighbour country.....last time I checked India is a democarcy where people have a right to do what they want as long as they are not breaking the law...so these cricketers did not want the award they didn't go...they did not apply for it did they?
