Worlds best player silences his critics!
by sandeep kumar on Apr 16, 2009 10:03 PM  | Hide replies

With his wonder goal, Ronaldo has laid to rest as to who is the worlds best. Dont forget that Ronaldo led ManU to champs league win last year, and while Messi was scoring against weak teams, he couldnt score a single goal against the tight English defences(led by terry, ferdinand etc). Messi would be 3rd behinf Ronaldo and gerrard if the topic of worlds best players ever come up.

indian manu fans! arent they a bit over confident about playing arsenal. lol

in british based manu blogs the fans are skeptical about manu playing arsenal. dunno which world indian moanu fans r living in.

only thing i can say is that if arsenal are at the top of their game, they win beat manu handsomely even if manu plays their best.

viva la gunners

Just dont say based on the past few games.

Form is temporary. Class is permanent. U gooners were limping a month ago and were desparately hanging on to clich the champions League spot. Dont forget that.

Now u r saying that u can beat Man Utd. We are a class apart when comes to winning for a Silverware. U indeed play attractive football but when it comes to silverware we are the best.

Just see what u got in the past few years. Empty hand.

Sour grapes for u Gooners.

SAF will make u lick ur wounds after we thrash u.

and again. if ppl here say that manu has a better strike force than arsenal, then u guys need to check it again. arsenal has the best depth in squad as far as midfeild and forwards r concerned.

just look at what all injuries and financial restrains we hav had in the last 3 years whn compared to other teams.

manu went on spending and is currently the club with the largest debt in thee world. over one billion gdp.

maybe u guys r not aware of such stuff called as football economics

well well...so u percieve investing in players as buying trophies. come to think of it, u probably r right too. i guess u cant blame United for arsenal not having enuff spending money. as for football economics, the glazer family is doin a fine job of managing the finances. they also have a credible record of owning succesful teams across the pond in the US.

as far as a better strike force goes, United plays n gels well as a team. better than most i shall say. credit where its due when it comes to wenger's foresight in investing in young players 4-5 years ago. but r u sure they'd stick to the emirates wen they spread their wings about? hardly doubt it

Here comes the economist.

Man Utd bought players from the money they won and won more with them. Not like other clubs who has owners to shell the money.

Dont give lames excuses like Financial constraints, injuries. Injuries are bound to happen in soccer and the manager needs to keep the playing 11 fit. Wenger did not buy or shell any money.

He says that he build teams but he is doing it for the past 4 years. SAF fas been doing that again and again and winning. May be Arsenal will become another Liverool who say that we will win next year every year.

U guys play well but in patches. we also lose sometimes but our loss will not affect the race to the title.

The so called debt is with other leading clubs like Real Madrid also. Dont drag that here.

See to it that ur winning trophies. Dont weave castles in air. Or u will ned up saying this sentence for another 10 years.
"In 2003-2004 we won unbeaten".

We are confident that we will win.If u think it is over-confident, then it is upto u.

All the Manchester United critics shud remember one point : Man United is light years ahead of other European clubs , thanks to the once-in-a-millenium Sir Alex Ferguson.Petty clubs like A.C.Milan,Chelsea and the worst,Real Madrid have no class,no pedigree of their own. These are the scavenger clubs, they just rob other clubs of their playmakers using their financial clout.Thats' not the case with United:they create stars sorry, galaxy of stars.Ronaldo,Giggs,Beckham,Ferdinand, Vidic,Keane,Solksjaer,Scholes,Nistelrooy and now,Welbeck,Macheda...the list is endless.Other clubs have managers who are never short of a worthless babble;we have a manager who is never short of a glorious achievement.Glory,Glory,Manchester Ubited!!!!!!!

I bet arsenal will loads of trophies if it starts spending a quarter of amount Manu spends. Any club in the world can win trophies if they have money to spend of quality players. So whats so special about manu. If manu didn't have loads of money to spend, will they still win trophies... I suppose not.. no way.

After watching the sumptuous Chelsea-Liverpool match, ManU-Porto was a real drainer. Arsenal-Villareal too was exciting.

The way ManU played last night made me think whether are they worthy enough to be in Semis of CL.

I hope Arsenal shows ManU the exit door, if they play like yesterday. There was simply no urgency or attractiveness in the entire 90 min.

For people who chastised me....
by Shak IsHere on Apr 16, 2009 03:47 PM  | Hide replies

My point of argument was most of us Indian football supporters , on what basis do we support a team? I see most people here just picked up Man Utd since its the most popular club . I am sure if somehow Man Utd gets relegated to the championship one day there wouldnt be a single supporter of Man Utd in India.
I also wonder if somebody in India supports clubs like Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Wigan, Queens Park Rangers -just for the love of the club itself. Until you love a club whether it does good or bad on the pitch how can you call yourself a true fan?

Its more like how someone can support the IPL in SA, one aspect can be appreciation of the game and other worthy reason is the very culture of go getting shown by these top clubs. Gives you a lot of confidence to face up in life..

IPL has indian teams, indian players and run by BCCI. So naturally Indians will support those teams whether they play in SA or AUS.
Your other point about the go getting nature of these clubs is pretty moronic . Going by that argument you are supporting a club which is winning today . If the same club gets relegated to a lower division guys like yourslef will shift loyalties to another "go getting" club proving to be the proverbial rat escaping from a sinking ship.

and as for supportin lower ranked football teams goes, i do support derby especially wen it comes to playin nottingham forest. the rivalry is quite intensifying. and that support stems from the fact that i did live there for a while. but my loyalties shall always lie with Man Utd. even wen they werent winnin' a lotta silverware a few years back. probably hard for u to understand the concept of it all but try n keep n open opinion. u never know u cud b converted into a massive football fan urself. cheers

Ur argument is totally baseless. There are many fans of ManU in India who were fans of Man Utd when the scousers(Liverpool) were at the peak. It is not like support a club when winning. Many constantly post in the BBC 606 Board.

Many Indians are fans of Italian,Spanish clubs.Man Utd are the most popular in the world and it is beacuse they are winning, winning and winning. Even if they lose they show character. Not like the stupid Indian team of before which never showed character.

Also Soccer in India is not exciting and is big drab here.

Pity that u r a Frog in the well. Just by mentioning a few club names does not mean that u know european soccer.

Dont gloat again here. Let the fans enjoy their moment. keep ur advice for urself.

Anyone that disagrees with this knows nothing about football!!

Messi is the best player in the world by miles. No comparison.

From the 1990s. The greatest players in the world are as follows.

Early 1990s. - Baggio
Mid/Late 90s - Ronaldo (real ronaldo)
early 2000s - Zidane
mid 2000s - ROnaldinho
Currently - MESSI

jawad syed you are mistaken. from 2003-2005 Ronaldinho was the greatest player in the world. He totally destroyed Real Madrid single handedly in a team that consisted of the zidanes and ronaldos.
Even the real madrid fans got up to clap. This has never happened in football. Opposition fans applauding the opponent.

Zidane was the best till 2003. Then Ronaldinho took over. Now its Messi.
