Chelsea - Liverpool clash just underlines the fact that how the desire to win , to excel can bring out the best.Liverpool demonstrated that virtue 4 years ago when they rose from the ashes at Istanbul to stun sporting world in general and A.C.Milan in paticular.Bravo Liverpool!!!!!!!!!!
My guess is a Champions League showdown between Barcelona and Manchester United. What say?

What a match!!! Both the teams played such an open game. 2-0 down, 3-2 up, 4-3 down and then 4-4 to end a minute before final whistle.

I was throughout on the edge.

Lampard, Drogba, Ballack were high points but Cech, Carvalho(very surprising) had an off day.

Cech seriously needs some counselling before we travel to Nou Camp.

Liverpool fought till end
by harish on Apr 15, 2009 08:38 PM

What a match that turned out to be ! Liverpool fought till end even without their inspirational captain and they did deserve to be in the semi final.

Hard luck, but there always is a nexy chance !

what a game....Bayern should learn 4rm Liverpool how to fightback rather to sit down and wait for loss.....if bayern would have been confident they would have at least won the match...in 1994 at uefa cup valencia beat karlsrue 3-0 at home...but away they lost 8-0 to karlsruhe on agg (3-8)....before the game bayern lost all hopes...all high scoring team crashed out i.e Bayern,ManU,Liverpool & now Barcelona will be next.....Chelsea will defeat Barca and will lift the Champions league.

Mr. Hiddink,Please don't leave!!
by shirin pathak on Apr 15, 2009 10:29 AM  | Hide replies

In my opinion Guus Hiddink should quit his Russian job and stay at Chelsea, under his stewardship Chelsea can overcome Barcelona in the semis as well and may be go on to win the Champions League on their current form.Defense is a worry, but they can overcome it.Credit should go to Hiddink after all,he turned things around after Scolari made a mess of them.

So please Mr. Hiddink,Don't leave Stamford Bridge and Chelsea.

A great match with poor defending
by rahul babbar on Apr 15, 2009 10:27 AM

It was a thrilling match with poor defending from both side...
the first goals for both sides were blunders from the goalkeepers and the two lampard goals were because of horrible defending(by Alonso who was supposed to mark him) because there was all alone in the penalty area....
I wanted Liverpool to win, but it was a great spectacle of attacking football by sides who are known to sit back and defend well...

"At the end I was satisfied with the way we played Barcelona. We went out to a team that is one class above us, probably the best in the world," said Klinsmann. Now blues know what they need to do.

Liverpool were without Stevie G...and Blues without Terry.....
U guys might knw that during Terry-Carvalho partnership...Chelsea conceded only 15 goals during d entire 04-05 season.....u think Kuyt and "the Next Gerrard" Lucas(Rafa must be crazy comparing him to Gerrard) would've scored if JT was on d field....

presence of Gerrard would've affected d scoreline but not d result......

anyway kudos to Liverpool for fighting till d end.....but still in d end of d season

You will Always Walk Alone!!!!!!!!!!Alone!!!!!!!!!!!Alone!!!!!!!!!!!Alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Truly an amazing game to be honest, with the tie turning for either teams.Credit to Liv for fighting it out till the last minute & giving the football fans a real specatcle. Also the football was clean with both the teams not resorting to any dirty tactics. Though both the teams missed thier most influential players/captains (Stevie and Terry), it was still a thrilling game. Its the 2nd season in a row that Liv r dumped out by Chelsea in the European cup. Gus Hiddink has seem to outsmarted Benitez in both the legs. It is the trio of Essien, Lampard & Drogba who Chlse fans need to thank. They were tireless & stuck to their task. Barca vs Chlse should be an amazing game too. Hope they dont dissappoint after this amazing rolercoaster.
