hey sameer, just ignore the points made by people below..whether you earn big money or not..i understand your point! $11,000 dollars isn't thatmuch for a tournament win..
why is rediff so insensitive towards our men's hockey team? These guys have won a very prestigious tournament...sultan azlan shah cup..and their is no news or any story about them. Same thing if have happened with indian cricket team they would have been heralded as heroes or gods..although m not against it as i too believe in sporting laurel recognition and m too an avid cricket fan...but this injustice against other sports is totally uncalled for. Media in our country not only rediff....always publish articles on cricket n cricket n cricket..in such a scenario a normal indian is bound to lose interest from other games which r really big in other countries and are recognised too as an olympic sport.

Bring glory to yourself only my dear girl. INDIA WILL ONLY FILE LAW SUITS AND DRAG YOU TO THE COURT FOR NO REASON AT ALL. JUST WORK FOR YOURSELF AND FORGET INDIA.
Sania Mirza is a role model for all young girls in India today. All our sisters and daughters look up to her because of her achievements::
1) In a cricket crazy nation she has made tennis popular. In most tennis coaching classes, young girls take up the sport because of her example 2) While she has not reached the really top level, she has done quite brilliantly still, and still remains the highest achiever in Singles in Tennis for any Indian woman. She is the best woman tennis player EVER in India from the record. 3)She is one of the most successful sportspersons in India today (not counting cricket). Other than the cricketers who earn more, perhaps no other sportsperson in India today earns as much as her, and that is a great achievement. 4) She is handling her career exceedingly well. In the area that matters, viz earnings, she is 26th in the World right now. Therefore who cares how she does in Singles, when she is so successful in the overall game. 5) And achieving all this despite the 'constraints' posed by her religious background, where both from her religion as well as out of it there are innumerable critics, is the icing on the cake of her achievements. This is a great person here, hats off to you Sania Mirza.

I totally agree with you mr. rajeev. Sania has overcome a lot of obstacles to reach this level. The people who criticize her do not know much about sports. Just ignore them

One person alone cannot win doubles. Obviously Sania and Chuang compliment each other well that's why they won.
They are playing on the world stage at a very competitive level, therefore winning at that stage whether singles or doubles does not matter it is a gr8 achievement. at that level even if what u say is true abt the strength of the taiwanese girl, their opponents were well experienced and would have taken advantage of any weakness in the opposing team. the fact that sani / chuang won shows that there was no such weakness - which means that they won due to the teamwork.....

Hey Gulf, Sania is at least competing & losing at the world stage. You are a bigger loser than Sania since all you do is fart around this forum. Rediff moderators, please save us from the agony of putting up with such a load of SH-T by not posting this maniac's messages !
