I propose a total ban on Formula One. No more gas guzzling machines, no more pollution, no more kids wasting time on TV, no more road accidents where driver takes a cue from their idols, no more semi-nud3 models to corrupt gullible minds, no more noise pollution, no more insane prize money for chicken drivers when the real winners are the scientists ...the list is endless. Like they say ...who needs courage when you have a gun. And the list for good things about Formula one is blank.

Gurpreet,
It is obvious that you do not understand Formula One.
F1 technology have filtered down to road over the last many decade. Listed are some of those areas -
1) Engine Technology - low weight alloy technology for engines with greater efficiency, more horse power per cc, evolution of improved engine oild, synthetic oils, anti friction material,
2) Brake technologies - carbon fibre brakes.
3) Electronic - traction control, ABS.
4) Body shell : Kevlar shell for zero fatalities since May 1994.
5) Aerodynamics : Improve efficiency by reducing the drag cooefficient
6) Electrical : regenerative braking (KERS).
7) Tyres : Technological changes that have lead to improved compounds and stronger construction.
8) Helmet technology
F1 technology has trickled into our everyday lives. This can be seen products as diverse as all terrain wheelchairs, crash resistant baby incubators for use in road/air ambulances, "Ovei" diagnostic tool for healthcare, wireless telemetry for healthcare, housing material for satellites and space vehicle etc.
Go to flickr dot com and type "Fast Forward: 20 ways F1 is changing our world" to see how F1 technology is entering our daily activities.

Might not be good if its excluded from this years championship. We F1 lovers expecting heavy battle this time as teams like BGP, RB, Williams & Toyota's giving tough fight to Fer, MClar....

wow vinoth the fool. you are speaking like the SS people who killed 6 million and said that they were simply following orders. wht a big fool you are.

Hamilton is the 2008 World Drivers Champion. He should have had the decency and the ethics to come clean on this issue instead of hiding behind the pretext of team orders.
Lewis Hamilton is a role model to many people and this lie will only diminish his stature as a sportsman.

Mr. Cool, He has already accepted his mistake, lets leave him! He has already taken a lot of pain for this stupid issue. It takes lot of courage to accept mistake and correct it. If u say that u have never done a mistake or been misled so far in ur life, then i value ur comments, otherwise no more arguments.
First he is a human being, then only world champion!

he didnt do anyone a favor by accepting his 'mistake'. he was caught with concrete evidence. do you think he had a choice. yes, he did have a choice earlier when he could have told his manager that he will not lie. since you are a kallu indian so you will not understand. lying is a big big thing in the west. out here its ok.

I like your comments. I like your thought. Dont use words like Kallu, you are sounding like the SS or the KKK now..

Mr Vinoth, Champions are expected to behave responsibly. They are definitely not expected to cheat or lie.
Hamilton should have stood against the McLaren team orders and told the truth to the stewards. Integrity of character is essential for any public figure.
