Ah HAMILTON!
by mahim on Sep 23, 2008 05:50 PM

Although it was very nauseating to see the hype that the british media and public created around hamilton last year, one felt for lewis that he missed the championship by one point
any other instances of drivers missing the championship so close?

Hamilton vs. Schumi
by Ashish Tiwari on Sep 23, 2008 03:21 PM  | Hide replies

I also believe that Hamilton is very much arrogant while driving, i.e. he does make mistakes and bends the rules. But, in hindsight; it seems HE seems to be the next Schumacher, ready to break his records; simply because he is in many ways similar to Schumi...

His loyalty to his team is comparable to Schumi's towards Ferrari. His influence over the team, its members, etc. And moreover, even Schumi was charged of bending the rules countless no. of times ('94 Aus GP; '97 European GP; '98 British GP; '02 Aus GP; '06 Monaco, to name a few...). And the result was, he went on to become most successful driver till date.

And believe me, only these sort of ruthless drivers can achieve that glory, and i can see very much of 'Schumi' in Hamilton.

And, all this i am saying inspite of the fact that i don't like him personally (Kimi is my man...). But, i know that Lewis will be ruling in future...

all F1 drivers r arrogant... I think the chicane-cutting
"advantage" is all Ferrari - backed FIA crap.Kimi is a bozo in the end he lost the race..hamliton desreved that win. I used to back ferrari but now its all different...massa is a "m -assa", alonso is now "who-alonso?" ...vettel proves to b silver lining !

May be he wants to emulate Schumi in attitude. But he got to be humble and not behave arrogant. He hasnt won a single title. He wouldnt have got this far if McLarens didnt cheat and spy last year. Talented driver he is, but not the best and if his arrogance extends, he will never be.

I agree with you. But while Schumacher learnt his way to being the world's number one driver, Hamilton already thinks he is the one. Schumacher had respect for all his colleagues and his moves were always on the track. In more ways that one, Hamilton takes his issues off track as well. case in point being Fenando ALonso last year and his allegedly calling Kimi's driving style as stupid and idiotic during the Monza press conference.

Hamilton, who will see his lead over Ferrari's Brazilian Felipe Massa [Images] stretch from one point to seven if McLaren win their appeal, said he had no choice but to cut the chicane to avoid a crash with Finland's Raikkonen.

"When the track is damp and you are at the end of the race, the last thing you want to do is to crash with him. You do not have to take stupid risks," he said.

This is exactly what you made Kimi do by/thro' your rashness 'n dangerous driving.

I agree entirely. Kimi's crash was due to Hamilton's rash and thoughtless driving. If he had not cut the chicane, and overtakes Kimi, he would not have been in a position to make Kimi crash.

Hamilton is a brash and dangerous driver and the action taken by the autorities is right. He needs a lesson at this astage of his career to become a mature and safe driver worthy of the world championship.

it seems you are very poor at logical reasoning... If Hamilton hit Kimi from behind in the Pit lane, then how can he be leading the race ahead of Raikkonen??? In any case, actually Kimi and Kubica were upfront there waiting for the lights to go green... So, they both were in the lead... and hamilton did his ugly act and removed Kimi out of equation...
